Red Bull have finished on the podium at every Singapore Grand Prix since 2010 and share the record for most wins with Mercedes, while Ferrari are the only team to record a 1-2 result at the track. Here’s everything you need to know about each team’s history at the Singapore Grand Prix!

RED BULL

At least one of their cars has featured on the podium at every Singapore Grand Prix since 2010, including three consecutive wins in 2011, 2012 and 2013. One of their drivers finished as runner-up here for five consecutive seasons between 2014 and 2018. Max Verstappen finished third in 2019, while Alex Albon finished sixth.

2019 was the first season since 2014 that neither Red Bull driver has qualified on the front row at the Singapore Grand Prix. The team haven’t taken pole at the Marina Bay Circuit since 2013. 2011 is the only season where Red Bull have locked-out the front row at the track.

2008 is the only year where the team have failed to reach Q3 with both cars, with both David Coulthard and Mark Webber being eliminated in Q2.

FERRARI

WINS: 3, POLES: 6, PODIUMS: 10 | 2022 RESULT: LECLERC 2nd, SAINZ 3rd

Ferrari became the first team to record a 1-2 finish at the Singapore Grand Prix with a 1-2 finish in 2019. Ferrari have won at the Marina Bay Circuit a further two times, with Fernando Alonso in 2010 and Sebastian Vettel in 2015.

The team failed to score on their first two visits to the track, but since then 2017 has been the only other year in which they’ve failed to take home points from Singapore. Both Ferraris were eliminated on the first lap that year.

In every year since 2010 every Ferrari car which has reached the end of the race has scored points. The team have taken podiums in seven races at the track, including double podium finishes in 2015, 2019 and 2022.

Ferrari were the first team to take pole position at the Marina Bay Circuit, and have enjoyed starting from the front a further five times since then – including in each of the last two races at the track. 2009 is the only year where neither Ferrari driver reached the final part of qualifying at this circuit. In addition to Kimi Raikkonen’s Q2 exit and Giancarlo Fisichella’s Q1 exit that year, the team suffered a futher Q2 elimination with Felipe Massa in 2012, while he and Vettel were both out in Q1 in 2012 and 2016 respectively with gearbox problems.

MERCEDES

WINS: 4, POLES: 3, PODIUMS: 6 | 2022 RESULT: HAMILTON 9th, RUSSELL 14th

Mercedes have won the Singapore Grand Prix four times, including in three consecutive years between 2016 and 2018. In 2019, neither Mercedes driver finished on the podium but both finished in the top five. The Brackley-based team suffered their worst Singapore Grand Prix result since 2008 in 2022, with Lewis Hamilton finishing ninth and George Russell last of the cars still running at the end of the race.

Mercedes have scored on every visit to Marina Bay Circuit, and finished on the podium with both cars in 2016 and 2017. The team have recorded four DNFs in total here, two as a result of Michael Schumacher crashing out of proceedings in 2011 and 2012, and two as a result of electrical failures for Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in 2014 and 2015 respectively. A Mercedes driver has never finished as runner-up in the Singapore Grand Prix.

Mercedes have taken pole at three Singapore Grands Prix – in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The team held a 100% appearance rate in the final part of qualifying here until 2022, when George Russell missed out on Q3 by qualifying 11th.

2014 is the only season where Mercedes have locked-out the front row in Singapore, but Rosberg’s car issues saw him starting from the pit-lane that year. Aside from their poles and front row lock-outs, Nico Rosberg started from the front row in 2013 and Lewis Hamilton started from the front row in 2019.

ALPINE

WINS: 0, POLES: 0, PODIUMS: 2* | 2022 RESULT: OCON DNF, ALONSO DNF

The Enstone team won the inaugural World Championship Singapore Grand Prix in 2008 under their Renault guise. Their win came in controversial circumstances in 2008, as Nelson Piquet Jnr was instructed to crash in order to give victory to team-mate Fernando Alonso.

Alonso also finished on the podium in the following season for the team, while Kimi Raikkonen recorded the team’s third and most recent podium finish at the circuit in 2013, under their Lotus guise. The team’s best result since their last podium finish was recorded by Jolyon Palmer, who finished sixth in the 2017 race.

Renault scored points in Singapore in all of the last four races at the Marina Bay Street Circuit prior to 2022, but the team recorded their first double retirement at the venue on their first appearance as Alpine last year.

Team Enstone’s best qualifying result at the Singapore Grand Prix is third place, recorded by Romain Grosjean in 2013. Fernando Alonso recorded their second top five qualification at the circuit with fifth place in 2022.

The team has reached Q3 with at least one car in all of the last four races at the circuit. In addition to Nico Hulkenberg’s ninth place in 2019, Daniel Ricciardo had qualified eighth – giving the team their first ever double Q3 appearance at the Marina Bay Circuit – but he was disqualified from the result having exceeded the MGU-K power limit in Q1. Team Enstone suffered their only double Singapore Q1 exit in 2016.

McLAREN

WINS: 1, POLES: 2, PODIUMS: 4 | 2022 RESULT: NORRIS 4th, RICCIARDO 5th

Lewis Hamilton’s win at the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix is the only time McLaren have taken victory so far at the Marina Bay circuit. They last featured on the podium here when Jenson Button finished as runner-up in 2012.

The team have scored in every race at the track except the 2015 event, in which they suffered a double DNF. 2018 marked the first time since 2013 that both McLarens reached the end of the race at the Marina Bay Circuit.

Until 2022, a McLaren driver finished in seventh place at all of the previous four races at the track. In 2022, both Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo finished in the top five, recording the team’s first double top five result at the circuit since 2011.

McLaren have taken two poles at the track in 2009 and 2012, both with Lewis Hamilton at the wheel. Their only other front row qualification here also came courtesy of Hamilton in 2008. Lando Norris’ sixth place in qualifying in 2022 marked the team’s first top six Saturday result at the Singapore Grand Prix since their last pole in 2012.

Only two McLaren drivers have recorded a Q1 exit at the Singapore Grand Prix: Stoffel Vandoorne recorded McLaren’s first Q1 exit at the track in 2018, with their worst ever qualifying position at the track of 18th, while Daniel Ricciardo was eliminated in Q1 in 2022.

ALFA ROMEO

WINS: 0, POLES: 0, PODIUMS: 0 | 2022 RESULT: BOTTAS 11th, ZHOU DNF

From their 24 entries at the track, the Sauber-owned team have scored only 12 points, with their best finish coming at the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix. Sixth place for Nick Heidfeld in 2008 is the team’s best result so far, and they have never finished higher than eighth since then.

The team have suffered two double DNFs at the track, in 2010 and 2014. After leading the race for a while, Antonio Giovinazzi finished tenth in 2019 in the team’s first appearance as Alfa Romeo. Neither driver scored in 2022, with Zhou Guanyu recording the team’s third retirement in the last four Marina Bay races.

In the last ten Singapore races, Esteban Gutiérrez, who qualified tenth in 2013, is the only one of the team’s drivers to have reached the final part of qualifying at this circuit. The team recorded double Q1 exits in both 2015 and 2017, but both cars reached Q2 for the first time since 2013 in 2018. Both drivers reached Q2 again in 2019.

Robert Kubica’s fourth place on the grid in 2008 is Sauber’s best qualifying result here, while 2008 and 2009 are the only years that both cars have appeared in Q3.

ASTON MARTIN

WINS: 0, POLES: 0, PODIUMS: 0 | 2022 RESULT: STROLL 6th, VETTEL 8th

With Lance Stroll sixth and Sebastian Vettel eighth in 2022, the Silverstone-based team recorded their first finish with both cars in the top eight in Singapore since 2011. It was the first time that the team had scored at the Singapore Grand Prix since they were under their Force India guise in 2017.

The team have had four DNFs in the last six races at the track. They have never recorded a double retirement here. Their best finish here came in 2012, when Paul di Resta scored an impressive fourth place result.

Racing Point failed to reach Q3 in 2019, and Lance Stroll recorded the team’s first Q1 exit at the circuit since Paul di Resta in 2013. Neither Aston Martin driver reached Q3 in 2022 either, but both reached Q2.

Both cars progressed to Q3 in 2011, 2016 and 2018. Di Resta is also to thank for the team’s best qualifying result so far at this track, taking sixth place in 2012.

HAAS

WINS: 0, POLES: 0, PODIUMS: 0 | 2022 RESULT: MAGNUSSEN 12th, SCHUMACHER 13th

Romain Grosjean’s ninth place finish in the 2017 Singapore Grand Prix is the only time a Haas car has scored so far at Marina Bay Street Circuit. The team have recorded non-finishes here twice, with Kevin Magnussen retiring from the 2017 race, while Grosjean failed to even make the start of the 2016 Singapore Grand Prix. In both 2018 and 2019, Magnussen has set the fastest lap of the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Haas team’s best qualifying result at the Singapore Grand Prix is eighth place, recorded by Romain Grosjean in 2018. That remained the team’s only Q3 appearance here until 2022, when Kevin Magnussen qualified in ninth place.

2022 was the first time since the team’s first appearance in 2016 that neither Haas driver exited in Q1 at the Singapore Grand Prix. The team is yet to record a double Q1 exit at the track.

Daniil Kvyat’s crash in 2017 and Yuki Tsunoda’s crash in 2022 are the only times that the team have failed to finish here in the last seven Singapore races, while the team recorded their only double non-finish at the track in 2009.

WILLIAMS

WINS: 0, POLES: 0, PODIUMS: 1 | 2022 RESULT: ALBON DNF, LATIFI DNF

Nico Rosberg scored Williams’ best result so far in the Singapore Grand Prix at the very first race here in 2008, where he finished as runner-up to Fernando Alonso. 2008 and 2010 are the only seasons where both Williams drivers have finished in the points at the Marina Bay track. The team have not scored a point here since 2017. George Russell recorded Williams’ fifth retirement at the circuit in 2019 after a collision with Romain Grosjean and both drivers retired from the 2022 race. It marked the team’s second double DNF at the Singapore Grand Prix. Both drivers also retired in 2012.

Williams have suffered double Q1 exits in all of the last four Singapore Grands Prix. Before that, their only other Q1 exit here had been for Pastor Maldonado in 2013. Maldonado is also to thank for Williams’ only front row appearance here, having qualified in second in 2012. A Williams driver hasn’t qualified in the top ten here for the Singapore Grand Prix since 2015.
