Your 2020 Eifel GP Predictions: The Results

Before the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix weekend began, I posted five prediction polls on the Lights Out twitter account. How many of the questions did you get right? Find out below!

1. WILL BOTTAS BE FASTEST IN FP1?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Valtteri Bottas has been fastest in all of the last six Free Practice 1 sessions, but he did not get the opportunity to extend that to seven at the Eifel Grand Prix. Weather conditions prevented the session from taking place. Free Practice 3 was the only practice session which went ahead at the Nurburgring and it was Bottas who topped the timesheet.

2. WILL THERE BE ANY RAIN?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

While no on-track running was held in wet conditions, the weather prevented any running from taking place on Friday. While Saturday was dry, there was a threat of rain during the race; though there were no downpours.

3. WHERE WILL PEREZ FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 6TH OR 7TH

CORRECT ANSWER: IN THE TOP FIVE

It was a disrupted weekend for Racing Point, with Nico Hulkenberg called in at the last minute to replace the ill Lance Stroll. On the other side of the garage, Sergio Perez finished in fourth position for a second consecutive race. It’s the first time in his career that he has finished in the top five at three consecutive races.

4. WHO WILL SET A FASTER LAP TIME: SCHUMACHER OR ILOTT?

YOUR PREDICTION: MICK SCHUMACHER

CORRECT ANSWER: NEITHER

Both Mick Schumacher and Callum llott were due to make their Formula 1 debuts in Free Practice 1 at the Eifel Grand Prix. The weather conditions prevented the session from taking place, so neither driver had the opportunity to jump in the car.

5. WILL ANY 2021 DRIVER SIGNINGS BE ANNOUNCED?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

There were rumours that Mick Schumacher would be announced as a 2021 Alfa Romeo driver over the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix weekend, but no such news came. Read the latest developments on the F1 Silly Season here
