2023 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen qualified in 17^th place, marking his fifth Q1 exit at Bahrain International Circuit. He set a new record as the driver with the most Q1 eliminations at the venue, overtaking Adrian Sutil, Marcus Ericsson and Nicholas Latifi.

2023 SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen finished the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in tenth place, recording his and the Haas team’s first points finish of the 2023 season. Magnussen last scored in a Grand Prix at the 2022 United States Grand Prix – though he did pick up a point in last year’s Sprint at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Magnussen maintains his 100% points-scoring record at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix having finished ninth last year.

2023 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen became the fourth driver to retire from the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, with his crash bringing out the second red flag of the race. This was Magnussen’s third retirement from the Australian Grand Prix – the third time he’s retired from his last five appearances at the event.

2023 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen was eliminated in Q1 at the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, equalling Lance Stroll, Marcus Ericsson and Romain Grosjean as the driver with the most Q1 exits in Baku. This was his 3rd Q1 exit at the track. For the third time in his last four appearances at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Magnussen finished the race in 13^th place.

2023 MIAMI GRAND PRIX

Qualifying fourth for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, Kevin Magnussen equalled his best ever starting position for a Grand Prix. He also started fourth on debut at the 2014 Australian Grand Prix and at the 2014 German Grand Prix. This marked Magnussen’s first Q3 appearance since the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix – a race weekend in which he secured pole position for the F1 Sprint.

Finishing the race in tenth place, Magnussen recorded his second point of the 2023 season. He also scored a single point with a tenth place finish at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

2023 MONACO GRAND PRIX

For the first time in 2023, Kevin Magnussen out-qualified his team-mate at consecutive races. On Sunday, Magnussen was the second retirement from the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. This is the second consecutive season in which Magnussen has retired from the Monaco Grand Prix and the Haas team’s third retirement in the last two Monaco races.

2023 SPANISH GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen recorded his fourth Q1 exit of the 2023 season. This was the 59^th Q1 exit of the Dane’s career, equalling Timo Glock for third place in the list of most Q1 exits in Formula 1. Magnussen finished 18^th at the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix. It’s his worst result to date at the Catalunya track but he maintains his 100% finishing record at the circuit.

2023 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen finished 17^th at the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix for a third consecutive visit to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

2023 AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX

The 2023 Austrian Grand Prix marked Kevin Magnussen’s 150^th Grand Prix start. It was also his 150^th start in car number 20. He became the ninth driver to have made 150 appearances with a single car number.

Magnussen qualified on the back row for the race, recording his 60^th Q1 exit. He is only the third driver to record 60 Q1 eliminations and overtakes Timo Glock for third in the list of most Q1 exits in Formula 1. In the race, he became the sixth driver to reach 150 starts without taking a victory (not including Carlos Sainz who won on his 150th start or Sergio Perez who won on his 190th start).

2023 BRITISH GRAND PRIX

Bringing the red flags out in Q1 after coming to halt in the final sector, Kevin Magnussen recorded his 61^st Q1 exit. That saw him equal Lance Stroll for second in the list of most Q1 exits in Formula 1. Magnussen qualified on the back row at consecutive races for the first time in his Formula 1 career. This was the first time Magnussen set the slowest qualifying time since the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix.

With his sixth Q1 exit at Silverstone, Magnussen equalled Jenson Button’s record tally of six Q1 eliminations at the British venue. Magnussen has been eliminated in Q1 on all of his last five appearances at Silverstone.

In the race, Magnussen retired for the third time this year. In total, this was Magnussen’s fifth retirement at Silverstone.

2023 HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen recorded the 62^nd Q1 exit of his Formula 1 career, overtaking Lance Stroll for second on the list of most Q1 exits in F1. Recording his fourth Q1 exit at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Magnussen equalled Marcus Ericsson as the driver who has recorded the most Q1 eliminations at the Hungaroring. He qualified on the back row for a third consecutive race.

Despite finishing only 17^th – and last of the cars still running at the end of the race – Magnussen joined Damon Hill and Ralf Schumacher as only the third driver to make eight Hungarian Grand Prix appearances without recording any retirements. 17^th is Magnussen’s worst result to date at the Hungaroring.

2023 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen qualified in 13th place for the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix, making this the first time since the Canadian Grand Prix that he did not qualify on the back row of the grid. Magnussen received a three-place grid penalty and dropped to 16th on the final grid.

2023 DUTCH GRAND PRIX

With 18^th place, Magnussen recorded the same qualifying result at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix as he did in 2022. With 14^th place on the road, Magnussen would have recorded his best result since finishing in the points at the Miami Grand Prix. However, a post race penalty dropped him to 16^th in the final order. Having started from the pit lane, Magnussen made up six positions by the end of the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix – the most positions he has gained in a race since the 2022 British Grand Prix.

2023 ITALIAN GRAND PRIX

Qualifying 19^th, Kevin Magnussen recorded his fourth Q1 exit at the Italian Grand Prix. He equalled the record for most Q1 eliminations at Monza. Marcus Ericsson, Romain Grosjean, Timo Glock and Vitantonio Liuzzi were also eliminated in Q1 four times here. Magnussen qualified 19^th at Monza for the second year in a row.

2023 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

For the first time since qualifying fourth at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, Kevin Magnussen reached Q3 at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix. Qualifying sixth, this was Magnussen’s third Q3 appearance at the Singapore Grand Prix and marked his best qualifying result at the circuit to date. Magnussen had never previously qualified in the top eight at Marina Bay Circuit.

With tenth place at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, Magnussen recorded Haas’ first Grand Prix point since he finished tenth at the Miami Grand Prix in May. This was the first time Haas scored a point at the Singapore Grand Prix since Romain Grosjean finished ninth in 2017. This was Magnussen’s fifth consecutive Singapore Grand Prix appearance in which he lost positions from where he started. Magnussen has scored points on three occasions at the Singapore Grand Prix, all three of those being tenth place results.

2023 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX

For the first time since 2014, Kevin Magnussen out-qualified his team-mate at the Japanese Grand Prix. He finished the race in 15th place, failing to score for the sixth time in seven visits to Suzuka.

2023 QATAR GRAND PRIX

With 19^th place in qualifying for the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, Kevin Magnussen qualified on the back row for the fifth time in the last nine races. As a result of not leading the race, Magnussen equalled Martin Brundle as the driver to have started the most Grands Prix without leading any laps. Magnussen has led two laps in Formula 1, but that was during the Sprint race at the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, not in the Grand Prix itself.

2023 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX

Having failed to lead a lap of the 2023 United States Grand Prix, Kevin Magnussen overtook Martin Brundle as the driver to have started the most Grands Prix without lead a lap in any of them.

2023 MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen ensured that Haas maintain their record of seeing at least one of their drivers exit in Q1 on every visit to Mexico, with Magnussen recording his fourth Q1 elimination in the country.

Magnussen crashed out of the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix, bringing out the red flags. This was the third race in Mexico to be red-flagged, after the 1987 and 1989 Mexican Grands Prix. Magnussen recorded his fourth retirement of the year – his first since the British Grand Prix. It was the first time Magnussen failed to see the chequered flag at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

2023 SAO PAULO GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen was out on the first lap at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix for the second year in succession. In addition to 2017, this was his third first lap DNF at Interlagos. That saw him overtake David Coulthard as the driver with the most Lap 1 retirements at the venue. Having also retired from the last race, Magnussen recorded his first consecutive DNFs since the 2022 Monaco and Azerbaijan Grands Prix.

2023 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen made his and the Haas team’s first Q3 appearance since the Singapore Grand Prix, qualifying in ninth for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Magnussen lost five positions over the course of the race to finish 13^th. It was the first time he finished in a worse position than he started since the Singapore Grand Prix.

2023 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX

Kevin Magnussen set the 17^th fastest time in Q1 at the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, recording his fourth Q1 exit at Yas Marina Circuit. He equalled Romain Grosjean as the driver with the most Q1 exits at the track. Magnussen’s Q1 exit made 2023 the fifth consecutive season in which a Haas driver failed to reach Q2 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

In the race, Magnussen finished 20^th for the first time in his career, meaning that 1^st, 3^rd and 4^th are now the only positions in the top 20 in which he is yet to finish during his Formula 1 career.
