Your 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Predictions: The Results

Did you predict a double podium for Red Bull? Or that a podium finish would come from outside the top ten on the grid? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL ALL OF THE PODIUM FINISHERS COME FROM THE TOP FIVE ON THE GRID?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

While polesitter Charles Leclerc and second on the grid Max Verstappen finished in the top two, in the opposite order to how they started, Sergio Perez finished third having started 11th. It was the first podium finish recorded from 11th on the grid since Sebastian Vettel finished runner-up having started there at the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

2. WH0’LL SCORE MORE POINTS IN THE 2023 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX – NORRIS, ALONSO OR SAINZ?

YOUR PREDICTION: NORRIS

CORRECT ANSWER: SAINZ

Lando Norris received 57.5% of the vote but crashed out on the third lap of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Of the two remaining drivers, Carlos Sainz finished sixth, with Fernando Alonso coming home in ninth. That sees the Spanish duo tied on 200 points apiece heading into the final race of the season.

3. WHAT WILL THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAP BETWEEN ALPHATAURI AND WILLIAMS BE AFTER THE RACE?

YOUR PREDICTION: SMALLER THAN 7 POINTS

CORRECT ANSWER: STILL 7 POINTS

Despite both Williams drivers starting in the top six on the grid, neither Alex Albon nor Logan Sargeant scored points in the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Neither AlphaTauri driver scored either, meaning that the gap in the championship remains seven points between the two teams heading into the final race of the year.

4. WILL BOTH RED BULLS FINISH IN THE TOP SIX?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Both Red Bull drivers finished in the top six at the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez recording the team’s first double podium result since the 2023 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

5. HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL BE RED-FLAGGED?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2 OR 3

CORRECT ANSWER: 2 OR 3

Chaos was expected at the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix and chaos was delivered on the opening night of practice. Just eight minutes into Free Practice 1, the session was red-flagged after Carlos Sainz ran over a loose water valve cover. It was one of two red flags over the weekend, the other coming as a result of a crash for Alex Albon towards the end of Free Practice 3.
