Your 2022 Canadian Grand Prix predictions: the results

Did you predict a wet qualifying session? Or that no drivers would crash at the Wall of Champions? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL THE TRACK BE WET OVER THE WEEKEND?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

While Friday stayed dry, both Free Practice 3 and Qualifying took place in damp conditions on Saturday. The wet weather contributed towards a mixed up grid. The weather was dry for the Grand Prix on Sunday.

2. HOW MANY DRIVERS WILL HIT THE WALL OF CHAMPIONS?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2

CORRECT ANSWER: 0

No drivers made contact with the famous Wall Of Champions at the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix. It was a relatively crash-free weekend, aside from Sergio Perez’s tap with the wall in qualifying and Yuki Tsunoda’s crash after exiting the pits during the race at Turn 1.

3. WHICH TEAM WILL WIN?

YOUR PREDICTION: RED BULL

CORRECT ANSWER: RED BULL

Max Verstappen won from pole position for Red Bull in a closely-fought battle with Carlos Sainz. Sainz crossed the line less than a second behind the Red Bull driver. Their team-mates both started further back. Sergio Perez retired with mechanical issues, while Charles Leclerc won the Driver of the Day vote after driving from 19th to fifth.

4. HOW MANY DRIVERS WILL TAKE A GRID PENALTY?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2

CORRECT ANSWER: 2

No grid penalties were confirmed at the time of this poll, but Charles Leclerc was heavily rumoured to be taking a power unit related grid drop. Leclerc’s penalty was confirmed on Friday, as was a grid penalty for Yuki Tsunoda who also took on new power unit parts.

5. WHICH CANADIAN WILL RECORD THE BEST RESULT?

YOUR PREDICTION: LANCE STROLL

CORRECT ANSWER: LANCE STROLL

Neither Canadian driver made it out of Q1 on Saturday, with Lance Stroll qualifying 18th and Nicholas Latifi 19th. While Latifi did not make much progress in the race and finished 16th, Stroll fought his way to 10th place and picked up a single point.
