2023 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll qualified in eighth place, making this his best ever qualifying result in Bahrain. His previous best result here was tenth, recorded at both the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix and the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix.

Stroll finished the race in sixth place. The last time Stroll finished above sixth place was when he took a podium finish at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, held at Bahrain International Circuit. He has taken two other sixth place finishes since then.

2023 SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll qualified in sixth place at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, marking the first time he has reached Q3 at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. It was also the first time Stroll qualified in the top six since taking pole position at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix.

Stroll was the first driver to retire from the race after being told to pull over by his team. It marked the first time that Stroll failed to reach the chequered flag in Jeddah. Despite never previously retiring, the Canadian has never scored a point at the circuit.

Stroll’s retirement marked the second time in the three races held at Jeddah Corniche Circuit that the driver who has started fifth retired from the race.

2023 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

Prior to his sixth place in qualifying for the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, Lance Stroll had never previously reached Q3 at Albert Park. He went on to finish the race in fourth place, recording his best result since finishing on the podium at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix. It’s the first time Stroll finished in the top eight at Albert Park.

Stroll’s points see him move ahead of Daniil Kvyat to fifth on the list of most points scored without taking a Formula 1 victory.

2023 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll reached Q3 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the first time since his rookie season in 2017. Stroll finished the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in seventh place. It was his second-best result in Baku and marks the first time he has scored at the track since 2019.

2023 MIAMI GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll was eliminated in Q1 at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, ending Aston Martin’s 100% Q3 appearance record in 2023. It was Stroll’s worst qualifying performance since the 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix.

12^th place for Lance Stroll in the race marked the first time he has finished a Grand Prix without picking up points since the 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix, where he finished 15^th. Neverthelesss, from the two races held in Miami so far, it is Stroll who has gained the most positions. He gained ten positions in 2022 and six in 2023.

2023 MONACO GRAND PRIX

Qualifying 14^th, Lance Stroll maintained his record of having never reached Q3 at the Monaco Grand Prix. Stroll was the first retirement from the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix on Lap 54 – a new record for the furthest into a Monaco race before the first retirement. The previous record was Lap 53; the lap on which Fernando Alonso retired from the 2018 race.

This was Stroll’s second retirement at the Monaco Grand Prix; the first time he has failed to finish the event since his maiden season in 2017.

2023 SPANISH GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll out-qualified Fernando Alonso for the first time during their time as team-mates at the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix. Qualifying sixth, Stroll equalled his best qualifying result of the season so far. He also qualified sixth at the Saudi Arabian and Australian Grands Prix.

Finishing sixth in the race, Stroll recorded his first points since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. This was the second time Stroll has picked up points at the Spanish Grand Prix. He also scored in 2020, with a fourth place finish.

2023 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX

For the first time in his Formula 1 career, Lance Stroll made it out of Q1 at his home race. The Canadian qualified in 13^th place for the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix – the best qualifying result for a Canadian at home since Jacques Villeneuve qualified 11^th in 2006.

Stroll received a three-place grid penalty for impeding, dropping him to 16th on the grid. He finished ninth, making this the fourth time in five appearances at his home event that Stroll picked up points. It was the third time he has done so by finishing in ninth place.

2023 AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll qualified in sixth place for the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix, out-qualifying team-mate Fernando Alonso for the second time in 2023. Stroll equalled his best qualifying result of the season, having previously qualified sixth three times already this year.

Picking up points with Aston Martin’s best F1 Sprint result to date on Saturday (4th place) and 9th place in the Grand Prix, Stroll overtook Jacques Villeneuve to become the Canadian driver to have scored the most points in Formula 1.

2023 BRITISH GRAND PRIX

Finishing 14^th at the 2023 British Grand Prix, Lance Stroll finished 14^th for the 13^th time in his career. That saw him overtake Pastor Maldonado and set a new record as the driver to have recorded the most 14^th place finishes in their Formula 1 career. This was Stroll’s worst British Grand Prix result since finishing 16^th in his maiden season in 2017.

2023 HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll was eliminated in Q2 at the Hungarian Grand Prix for a third consecutive season. He finished the race in tenth place, making the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix only the second time that he has scored a point at the Hungaroring. He finished fourth with Racing Point in 2020.

2023 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll reached Q3 at Spa for only the second time in his career. He last reached the top ten in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix in 2020, when he qualified ninth. Finishing the race ninth, Stroll became the 51^st driver to score points at 50 Formula 1 race weekends. 2023 is the first time that Stroll scored points at the Belgian Grand Prix since 2020. 2019 is the only other season in which Stroll scored points at Spa.

2023 DUTCH GRAND PRIX

Finishing in 11^th place at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, Lance Stroll failed to score a point for only the second time in the last seven races. Stroll has finished where he started in all of the last three Dutch Grands Prix. Max Verstappen – who has won the last three Zandvoort races from pole position – is the only other driver to have done so.

2023 ITALIAN GRAND PRIX

Setting the slowest qualifying lap time at the 2023 Italian Grand Prix, Lance Stroll was eliminated in Q1 for the second successive year at Monza. Stroll’s previous worst qualifying effort at Monza was 18^th, in 2022. Stroll recorded his team’s worst qualifying result at Monza since 2014, when Nico Hulkenberg failed to set a lap time with Force India.

Stroll finished 16^th in the 2023 Italian Grand Prix – his worst result in a race he has finished since finishing 20^th at the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix; and his worst finish at an event where racing took place since finishing 17^th at the 2019 Hungarian Grand Prix.

2023 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll suffered a huge crash at the end of Q1 at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix. After improving in the first two sectors, his crash just before the finish line meant that he did not improve his lap time and set the slowest time overall of the 20 drivers. Stroll qualified in last place for a second consecutive race. It was the second time in his career that he qualified in last position at consecutive races, having last done so at the 2018 Singapore and Russian Grands Prix. His Q1 exit made Stroll the first driver to record four Q1 eliminations at Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Stroll withdrew from the race following his crash during qualifying. It made the event the first since the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix which Stroll did not start. It ended a streak of 64 consecutive starts for the Canadian driver. Stroll’s absence also made this the first race since the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at which no Canadian drivers took the start.

2023 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX

17^th place in qualifying at the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix for Lance Stroll saw him record his third Q1 exit in five appearances at Suzuka. He remains yet to appear in Q3 at the track. Stroll failed to finish the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix, recording his first DNF at Suzuka since his maiden season in 2017. Stroll’s retirement marked the Silverstone-based team’s first retirement at the Japanese Grand Prix since both drivers retired under their Force India guise back in 2010.

2023 QATAR GRAND PRIX

Qualifying 17^th for the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, Lance Stroll was eliminated in Q1 for the fourth consecutive race. Finishing 11^th, Stroll equalled his best result of the last five races. Stroll is one of only two drivers, along with Esteban Ocon, who gained positions from where they started at the Qatar Grand Prix in both 2021 and 2023.

2023 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll was out in Q1 at the 2023 United States Grand Prix, recording his seventh consecutive Q1 exit. This was Stroll’s fourth Q1 exit at Circuit of The Americas, setting a new record for most Q1 eliminations at the track.

Lance Stroll finished seventh at the 2023 United States Grand Prix, recording his best result since finishing sixth at the Spanish Grand Prix and scoring points at COTA for the first time in his career. Having started from the pit lane, Stroll gained 13 positions over the course of the Grand Prix. It’s the most positions he’s ever made up in a race, overtaking his former record of 11 places gained in the 2019 German Grand Prix.

2023 MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX

On his 25^th birthday, Lance Stroll failed to finish the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix following contact with Valtteri Bottas. Stroll is the second driver to retire from a Formula 1 race on their 25^th birthday, after Carlos Sainz at the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix.

At what was the 400th Grand Prix to feature a Canadian driver on the grid, Stroll recorded his sixth consecutive Q1 exit at the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix. Recording his fifth Q1 exit at the event, Stroll overtook Romain Grosjean’s record for the most Q1 exits at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

2023 SAO PAULO GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll ended his six-race run of consecutive Q1 exits at the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix with his first Q3 appearance since the Belgian Grand Prix. Stroll qualified third, recording the third top three qualifying result of his career to date after the 2020 Hungarian and Turkish Grands Prix. He was also promoted to the front row of the grid at the 2017 Italian Grand Prix.

Stroll’s third place marked the first time the Canadian reached Q3 at Interlagos – and the first time he qualified inside the top 13 positions at the track. Stroll out-qualified team-mate Fernando Alonso for the third time in 2023, after the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix. This was the first time in his career that Stroll out-qualified a team-mate in Brazil.

Stroll came home in fifth place in the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, recording his first top five result since the Australian Grand Prix. This was the eighth top five finish of Stroll’s Formula 1 career.

2023 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX

Lance Stroll finished fifth at the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, recording his second consecutive fifth place finish. This was the first time Stroll scored in consecutive Grands Prix since the 2023 Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix, as well as the first time in his career that he has recorded top five results at two races in a row. Stroll started 19^th and gained 14 positions over the course of the race. It’s the most positions he’s gained in a single Grand Prix during his career to date, bettering his previous personal best from three races ago.

2023 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX

Finishing in tenth place, this was the second consecutive Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in which Lance Stroll scored a point. It was Stroll’s third points-scoring appearance from seven Abu Dhabi Grand Prix starts.
