With third place, Charles Leclerc recorded his best qualifying result since taking pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Qualifying fourth, George Russell qualified in the top six for an 11th consecutive race weekend – the longest active streak of any driver. This was Russell’s best qualifying result to date at COTA.
Oscar Piastri qualified sixth for the 2025 United States Grand Prix. After qualifying in the top four at all of the first 16 races of the year, this is the second time in the last three rounds that he has qualified outside of the top five.
Piastri remains yet to out-qualify his team-mate for a Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas in any of his three visits to the track.
Carlos Sainz became the first Williams driver to reach Q3 at COTA since both Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas qualified in the top ten in 2016.

For the first time in his career, Ollie Bearman reached Q3 at consecutive races. With eighth place in qualifying for the 2025 United States Grand Prix, Bearman equalled his best qualifying result of the season so far. He also qualified eighth for the British Grand Prix, but was demoted to 18th on the final grid.
Bearman equalled Haas’ best-ever qualifying result at the United States Grand Prix. This was only the third time that a Haas driver reached Q3 at COTA. With eighth place, Bearman equalled the team’s best qualifying result at the circuit, previously recorded by Romain Grosjean in 2018.
Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri maintained their record of reaching Q3 on every appearance to date at the United States Grand Prix. Kimi Antonelli and Ollie Bearman joined them in the club, of which Michael Schumacher and Mark Webber are the only other members.
Fernando Alonso reached Q3 for the fifth time in the last six races.
ELIMINATED IN Q2
Yuki Tsunoda failed to reach Q3 for the tenth time in the last 13 race weekends. He became only the third Red Bull driver – after Sebastian Vettel in 2014 and Max Verstappen in 2018 – to fail to reach Q3 at COTA.
2025 is the fourth season in a row in which Tsunoda has been eliminated in Q2.
Nico Hulkenberg remains the only driver yet to reach Q3 in 2025. For the second race weekend in a row, he qualified 11th for the United States Grand Prix.

Franco Colapinto progressed to Q2 for the first time since the Hungarian Grand Prix, this being only the second time he has not exited in Q1 in the last eight race weekends.

Lance Stroll exited in Q1 for the fourth time in the last five race weekends.
Qualifying 17th for the 2025 United States Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon was out in Q1 for the fifth time in the last six races. This was the first time since 2022 that he exited in Q1 at COTA.
