Your 2024 Chinese Grand Prix Predictions: The Results

Did you predict a double win for Verstappen? Or a point-less weekend for home hero Zhou? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WHERE WILL ZHOU FINISH IN THE 2024 CHINESE GRAND PRIX?

YOUR PREDICTION: 15th or lower / DNF

CORRECT ANSWER: 13th or 14th

In his third Formula 1 season, Zhou Guanyu finally got the opportunity to race in front of his home crowd. Zhou finished ninth – just outside of the points – in Saturday’s Sprint race. He finished five places further back in the Grand Prix.

2. WILL THE SAME DRIVER WIN THE SPRINT AND THE GRAND PRIX?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Max Verstappen won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix in Shanghai. While he won the Sunday race from pole position, he won Saturday’s Sprint from fourth on the grid.

3. WHERE WILL THE TOP MERCEDES DRIVER FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 6th or LOWER

CORRECT ANSWER: 6th or LOWER

While both Mercedes drivers scored at the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, neither finished in the top five. George Russell came home sixth, while Lewis Hamilton recovered from 18th on the grid to ninth at the chequered flag.

4. WHERE WILL PEREZ FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: ON THE PODIUM

CORRECT ANSWER: ON THE PODIUM

Prior to the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, Sergio Perez had never finished in the top seven at Shanghai International Circuit. Despite being hampered by the timing of the Safety Car, Perez – who started on the front row – finished the race on the final step of the podium.

5. HOW MANY TEAMS WILL FINISH WITH BOTH CARS IN THE TOP 10 IN THE SPRINT?

YOUR PREDICTION: 4

CORRECT ANSWER: 4

As 54% predicted, four teams saw both cars finish in the top ten in the Sprint at the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix. Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren were the only teams to score, with each of their cars finishing within the top eight. Haas and Sauber were the other teams to bring home top ten results.
