2023 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX

Finishing second to Max Verstappen in both qualifying and the race, Sergio Perez brought Red Bull their first front row lock-out at the Bahrain Grand Prix and their first 1-2 finish at the venue. This was Perez’s 27^th podium finish, equalling Bruce McLaren and Ralf Schumacher for 37^th in the all-time list.

2023 SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez won the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from pole position. He became the 72nd driver to take multiple poles in F1 and the 55th to take five victories. Finishing on the podium for the 28^th time in his career, Perez equalled Clay Regazzoni for 36^th in the all-time list of most podium finishes.

Having taken his only other pole at Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Perez became only the ninth driver to record successive career pole positions at a single circuit. The other drivers to have done so are Graham Hill, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nigel Mansell, Jean Alesi, Jenson Button, Rubens Barrichello, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.

Perez has taken all five of his first Grand Prix victories from different grid slots. This was the first time he converted a pole position into a win. He is only the second driver, after John Watson, to record their first five wins from five different grid positions.

Having led 47 laps of the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Sergio Perez is now the driver who has led the most laps at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. He is also the first driver to have led the most laps in a single race in Jeddah and go on to win that race.

2023 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

After being eliminated in Q1 for the first time since the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix and recording his team’s worst-ever Australian Grand Prix qualifying result, Sergio Perez fought back to fifth in the race. Perez scored points for the 16^th race in a row, making this the longest points-scoring streak of the Mexican’s career, beating his previous best of 15 consecutive top ten finishes between the 2016 German Grand Prix and the 2017 Spanish Grand Prix.

2023 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez took two wins in one weekend as he won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix. His Sunday victory made him the first driver to have won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix twice. It was the sixth victory of Perez’s career, seeing him move into the top 50 of drivers who’ve won the most races in Formula 1 history. His sixth win saw him equal the career win tallies of Tony Brooks, John Surtees, Jochen Rindt, Gilles Villeneuve, Jacques Laffite, Riccardo Patrese and Ralf Schumacher.

Perez’s win at the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix makes him the first driver to record five podium finishes at Baku City Circuit. No other driver has finished on the podium in Azerbaijan more than three times. Mexico is also the nation with the most podiums in Baku, with Perez being the country’s only podium finisher at the track.

Already the driver to have scored the most points in Baku, his points scored in the Sprint and the Grand Prix made Sergio Perez the first driver to have scored 100 points in Azerbaijan. His total of points scored at the track now stands at 115 – 30 more than Lewis Hamilton, who sits second on the list.

2023 MIAMI GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez secured pole position for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, making Miami International Autodrome the second track at which the Mexican driver has taken pole position. Perez finished as runner-up, becoming the first polesitter to do so since the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix. He became the 36th F1 driver to record 30 podium finishes, equalling Juan Pablo Montoya’s number of top three results.

2023 MONACO GRAND PRIX

On his 50^th start with Red Bull, Sergio Perez failed to score at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. He became the first driver who failed to score while their team-mate won in Monaco since Fernando Alonso in 2004. After crashing at Ste Devote on Saturday, Perez recorded his third Q1 exit in Monaco. Finishing 16th, this was the first time Perez finished a race without scoring since the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix. It was the fourth time in the last six Monaco Grands Prix that Perez failed to score.

2023 SPANISH GRAND PRIX

Qualifying in 11^th place for the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix, Sergio Perez became the first Red Bull driver to fail to reach Q3 at the Spanish Grand Prix since Mark Webber in 2012. This was the first time since 2019 that Perez failed to reach Q3 at the Spanish Grand Prix. Driving from 11^th on the grid to fourth at the finish, Perez gained seven positions over the course of the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix. It’s the most places he’s gained to date in a race at this venue.

2023 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX

For the first time since the end of the 2019 season, Sergio Perez failed to qualify in the top ten for a third successive race at the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix. From ten appearances at the Canadian Grand Prix, Perez has reached Q3 only three times: in 2015, 2017 and 2018. With his Q2 elimination, Perez extends the record for most Q2 exits in Canada to six.

Perez finished the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix in sixth place. Failing to finish on the podium for the third race in a row, this is now his longest streak without a podium since the 2022 Austrian, French and Hungarian Grands Prix. This was the first time since 2017 that Perez scored points at the Canadian Grand Prix.

2023 AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX

For the fourth successive race, Sergio Perez failed to reach Q3 at the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix. It marked the first time since the end of the 2008 season that Red Bull have failed to reach Q3 with at least one car at four successive races. This was the first time Perez has failed to reach Q3 at four successive races since he qualified outside of the top ten at all of the last eight races of the 2019 season.

On Sunday, Perez returned to the podium for the first time since the Miami Grand Prix. This was the first time Perez finished on the podium at the Red Bull Ring, his previous best result here being fourth place in the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix. Perez recorded the 30^th podium finish of his Formula 1 career. He is the 36^th driver to record 30 podiums and equals the career tally of Juan Pablo Montoya.

Finishing third from 15^th on the grid, Perez recorded the first podium from 14^th or lower on the grid in Austria since 1975, when Tom Pryce also finished third having started 15^th. The only lower position from which a podium has been recorded is 17^th, by Rolf Stommelen in 1970. Perez is the first driver to have finished on the podium having started 15^th on the grid twice in his Formula 1 career. He also finished on the podium having started 15^th at the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix.

2023 BRITISH GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez failed to qualify in the top ten for a fifth consecutive race. It’s the first time that Red Bull have failed to reach Q3 with at least one car at five consecutive races since the end of the 2008 season. This was the first time that Perez has recorded a Q1 exit at the British Grand Prix – though he qualified 20^th in 2021 as a result of Sprint Qualifying. Perez became only the second Red Bull driver – after Daniel Ricciardo in 2017 – to record a Q1 exit at the British Grand Prix.

Perez gained nine positions throughout the 2023 British Grand Prix to finish sixth. It’s the most positions he has ever gained in a race at Silverstone. Perez became the first driver who started 15^th at Silverstone to finish in the top six since Luis Pérez-Sala, who finished sixth at the 1989 British Grand Prix.

2023 HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez made his 246^th start at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, equalling David Coulthard as the driver who has made the 11^th most Grand Prix starts. Perez ended a five-race streak of failing to reach Q3 and qualified in ninth place for the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix. It was his fifth Q3 appearance of the season and only the fifth time in 13 appearances at the Hungaroring that Perez has qualified in the top ten.

Finishing the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix in third place, Perez recorded his sixth podium result of the season. This was Perez’s 32^nd podium finish, equalling Jim Clark, Jacques Laffite, Jean Alesi and Daniel Ricciardo for 30^th in the list of most top three finishes in Formula 1. This was Perez’s first podium finish at the Hungaroring, making it the 23^rd different circuit at which he has recorded a top three result.

Driving from ninth on the grid to third at the finish, the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix was the fifth consecutive race in which Perez has gained six or more positions. Perez recorded the first podium finish from ninth on the grid at the Hungarian Grand Prix since Nelson Piquet, who also finished third in 1990. It’s the best ever result recorded from ninth on the grid in Hungary.

Scoring points for the 162^nd time, Perez equalled Jenson Button for seventh in the list of most race weekends at which a Formula 1 driver has scored.

2023 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Setting the third fastest time in Q3, the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix marked Sergio Perez’s first top three qualification since he took pole position for the Miami Grand Prix. Perez equalled his best Belgian Grand Prix qualifying result, having also qualified third in 2022.

Finishing the race as runner-up, Perez recorded his 33^rd podium finish, equalling Denny Hulme and Jody Scheckter for 28^th in the all-time list of most top three results. Perez scored points for the 163^rd race, which saw him overtake Jenson Button as the driver who has scored in the seventh most Formula 1 races.

2023 DUTCH GRAND PRIX

With Sergio Perez racing, the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix was the 350^th race to feature a Mexican driver on the grid. Originally crossing the line third, Perez dropped to fourth in the final order after picking up a time penalty for exceeding the pit lane speed limit. It’s still his best result to date at the Dutch Grand Prix.

2023 ITALIAN GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez finished as runner-up in the 2023 Italian Grand Prix, recording his first podium finish at Monza since he was a Sauber driver back in 2012. This was Perez’s tenth consecutive points-scoring visit to the circuit.

2023 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

At the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, Sergio Perez became the 11th driver to make 250 starts in Formula 1. In qualifying, Perez failed to reach Q3 for the seventh time in 2023, ending a four-race streak of Q3 appearances – his longest streak so far this year. Qualifying 13^th, this was Perez’s worst Singapore Grand Prix qualifying result since 2015. Perez finished the race in eighth place, finishing outside of the top six for the first time since the Monaco Grand Prix.

2023 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez retired from the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix, before re-joining the race to serve his time penalties and then retiring again. This was Perez’s first retirement since the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix and his first DNF at the Japanese Grand Prix since 2012. This was the first time since 2005 that the team-mate of the winner at Suzuka failed to finish the race.

2023 QATAR GRAND PRIX

For the eighth time this season, Sergio Perez failed to reach Q3 at the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix. After a raft of time penalties, Perez finished only tenth in the race. This was Perez’s first tenth place finish since the 2020 Italian Grand Prix.

2023 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX

At the 2023 United States Grand Prix, Sergio Perez overtook Jarno Trulli as the driver to have made the 10^th most Formula 1 starts. Perez finished fourth in the 2023 United States Grand Prix – his best result since finishing on the podium at the Italian Grand Prix. As Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from the race, Perez equalled his record of ten classified finishes at the Austin circuit.

2023 MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez recorded a disappointing first lap retirement at the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix. This was the second time Perez failed to finish his home race, after the 2018 Mexican Grand Prix. Perez became the 11^th driver to record a first lap retirement at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

2023 SAO PAULO GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez could qualify no higher than ninth for the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. It means that in the last 15 races, his third place at the Belgian Grand Prix is the only time he has qualified inside the top four. Perez became the first Red Bull driver to qualify outside of the top six at Interlagos since both drivers qualified outside the top six in 2015.

Missing out on the podium by just 0.053 seconds, Perez finished in fourth place. With that, Mexico became the tenth nation to have scored in 200 Grands Prix. Perez has never finished on the podium at Interlagos but this was his seventh consecutive points-scoring appearance at the track. Three of those seven appearances have resulted in fourth place finishes.

2023 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez could qualify no higher than ninth for the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. It means that in the last 15 races, his third place at the Belgian Grand Prix is the only time he has qualified inside the top four. Perez became the first Red Bull driver to qualify outside of the top six at Interlagos since both drivers qualified outside the top six in 2015.

2023 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX

Sergio Perez qualified ninth at the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, his worst qualifying result at Yas Marina Circuit from his three appearances as a Red Bull driver. Perez finished second on the road but was demoted to fourth following a five-second time penalty. Fourth is his second-best-ever result at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
