Antonelli equals Patrese as the Italian with the second-most wins, Red Bull reach 300 podium finishes and Leclerc takes a fourth consecutive Spa podium. Here are the facts and statistics from the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix!
ANTONELLI WINS THE 2026 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX
Kimi Antonelli secured victory in the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, taking his sixth win of the season. He is the 54th driver to have won as many as six Grands Prix. This was Antonelli’s first victory since Monaco.
Antonelli equals Riccardo Patrese for second on the list of most Grand Prix victories for an Italian driver in Formula 1.
This was the fourth win for an Italian driver at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in its World Championship history – the first since Alberto Ascari triumphed in the 1953 Belgian Grand Prix. Antonelli’s podium was the first for an Italian at Spa since Giancarlo Fisichella finished as runner-up with Force India at the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix.
This was the first time since 2021 that the Belgian Grand Prix polesitter went on to win the race.
Mercedes took their seventh victory at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, overtaking Red Bull as the constructor with the third-most wins at the track.
Mercedes equalled Ferrari as the most successful engine manufacturer at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. This was the 14th win for a Mercedes-powered car at the track, equalling Ferrari’s record.
ON THE PODIUM
Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen joined Kimi Antonelli on the podium at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix. Verstappen recorded his sixth top three finish at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, while Leclerc recorded his fifth.
Finishing second, this was Leclerc’s fourth successive podium finish in Belgium. He had finished third here in all of the last three seasons.
Leclerc’s second place made 2026 the fifth year in a row that a Ferrari driver has finished on the podium at the Belgian Grand Prix. This was the first time a Ferrari driver finished in the top two here since Leclerc’s maiden victory in 2019.
This was the first time Leclerc finished in the top two at consecutive races since the 2024 Dutch and Italian Grands Prix.
Verstappen recorded the 130th podium finish at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix. He is the third driver to reach the milestone, after Michael Schumacher at the 2004 United States Grand Prix and Lewis Hamilton at the 2018 Russian Grand Prix.
This marked the 300th podium finish for Red Bull in Formula 1. Their first came 20 years ago, at the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix.
IN THE POINTS
With fourth place in the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton remains the only driver to have scored points in every Grand Prix so far this year. He’s yet to finish outside of the top six this season.
Finishing fifth, Oscar Piastri finished in the top five for the fourth time in the last five races.
Despite starting 21st on the grid, Isack Hadjar maintained his top six finishing streak at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix with a sixth place finish. This was his sixth consecutive finish in the top six.
Lando Norris set the fastest lap of the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix. It was his second fastest lap of the year, after Miami. In the last nine race weekends, Norris and Kimi Antonelli are the only drivers who’ve set the fastest lap in a Grand Prix.
Norris gained six places during the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, having started 13th and finished seventh. It is the first time he has gained as many as six places from where he started since the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
This was the first top seven finish for the driver starting 13th at the Belgian Grand Prix since 2012.
Finishing eighth, Gabriel Bortoleto maintained his 100% points-scoring rate at the Belgian Grand Prix, having finished ninth on his first appearance last year.
Bortoleto finished eighth for the second Grand Prix in a row, scoring points at consecutive rounds for the first time since the 2026 Belgian and Hungarian Grands Prix.
Bortoleto’s eighth place marks the best Belgian Grand Prix result for the former Sauber team since Kamui Kobayashi finished eighth in 2010.
Arvid Lindblad finished ninth in the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, making this the tenth year in a row that the Red Bull junior team has scored points at Spa.
This was the fifth Grand Prix in a row in which Lindblad scored points.
With tenth place at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, Franco Colapinto made this the eighth year in succession that at least one Alpine (formerly Renault) driver has scored a point at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
This was Colapinto’s sixth points-scoring appearance of the 2026 season.
THE OTHER FINISHERS
Liam Lawson’s five-race scoring streak came to an end at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix with a 12th place finish.
With Alex Albon 15th and Carlos Sainz 16th, Williams failed to score a point at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix. They did, however, become the second team – after Ferrari – to have raced as many as 3,000 laps at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
Aston Martin failed to score a point at the Belgian Grand Prix for the second year in a row. Before 2025, the Silverstone-based team had not failed to score at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps since 2008.
With Ollie Bearman 14th and Esteban Ocon 17th, Haas failed to score a point at the Belgian Grand Prix for the eighth year in a row.
THE RETIREES
George Russell was eliminated on the opening lap of the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, recording his second retirement of the season – his first since the Canadian Grand Prix.
This was the second first lap retirement for Russell, after the 2022 British Grand Prix. Russell became the second driver to record a first lap DNF this year, after Max Verstappen at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Russell became the first driver to retire from third on the grid at the Belgian Grand Prix since Heikki Kovalainen in 2008.
Lance Stroll retired with clutch problems, recording his seventh non-finish of the season.
Sergio Perez recorded his third retirement in the last six race weekends. The British Grand Prix is the only time in the last six race weekends that both Cadillac drivers have reached the chequered flag.
