Norris records McLaren’s first Monaco win since 2008, Mercedes go point-less in Monaco for the first time since 2011 and Williams enjoy their first double points scoring race in the principality in 20 years. Here are the facts and statistics from the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix!

NORRIS WINS THE 2025 MONACO GRAND PRIX

Lando Norris claimed victory in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, becoming the 38th different driver to win the event in its history on the Formula 1 calendar.

This was the sixth win of Norris’ career – his first since the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Norris has finished on the podium in all but one race so far this year.

Norris secured McLaren’s first victory at the Monaco Grand Prix since 2008. This was the team’s 16th victory at the event, extending the team’s record for most Monaco wins.

This was Norris’s second podium finish at the Monaco Grand Prix, having also finished third in 2021.

During the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, Norris overtook David Coulthard as the driver who has completed the most Grand Prix laps with McLaren. Norris has now raced 7,774 laps with McLaren compared to Coulthard’s 7,755 laps.

This was the 13th victory for a Mercedes-powered car at the Monaco Grand Prix. Mercedes therefore equal Ford Cosworth as the most successful engine manufacturer at the event. Ford Cosworth had held the record outright since 1974.

Norris recorded the fastest lap of the race for the fifth time this year.

ON THE PODIUM

Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri joined Lando Norris on the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix podium. This was the first Monaco race in which two McLaren drivers and a Ferrari driver finished on the podium since 2007.

All three podium finishers recorded their second podium finish at the Monaco Grand Prix.

This was the third year in a row that the top three qualifiers finished in the same order as they started at the Monaco Grand Prix.

With second place, Charles Leclerc recorded his best result of the season to date. It was his first top two finish since the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix.

This was the seventh time in the last ten Monaco races that a Ferrari driver finished as runner-up.

Leclerc recorded his 45th podium finish with Ferrari, overtaking Fernando Alonso for fifth on the list of most top three finishes with the team.

Leclerc equalled Carlos Reutemann for 19th on the all-time list of most podium finishes in Formula 1.

Leclerc’s drive saw him voted Driver Of The Day for the 18th time in his career. It was the first time he won the vote this year.

Finishing on the Monaco podium for the second year in a row, Oscar Piastri maintained his 100% points-finish record at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Piastri’s third place finish means that he still leads the championship. This is the first time that an Australian driver has led the Drivers’ Championship for as many as four races in a row since Alan Jones led after five consecutive races from the 1980 Canadian Grand Prix to the 1981 Brazilian Grand Prix.

IN THE POINTS

Max Verstappen finished fourth in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, failing to finish on the podium in Monaco for the second year in a row.

Crossing the finish line in fifth place, Lewis Hamilton extended his record for the most finishes at the Monaco Grand Prix. This was the 18th time he crossed the finish line at the event.

Hamilton finished in the top five for a second consecutive race – the first time he has finished in the top five at successive races since the 2024 Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix.

During the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, Ferrari became the first team to have completed over 10,000 racing laps in Monte Carlo in Formula 1 history. Second on the list are McLaren – over 3,000 laps behind Ferrari.

Isack Hadjar finished sixth in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, recording the best result of his Formula 1 career to date.

This was the fourth time in total that a driver for the Red Bull junior team finished in the top six at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Esteban Ocon scored points for the third time this season, finishing seventh in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix.

Ocon’s seventh place was Haas’ best-ever result at the Monaco Grand Prix, as well as the first time that the team has scored points at the event since 2019.

Liam Lawson scored his first Grand Prix points of the 2025 season with an eighth place finish in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. This was his first points-scoring race since finishing ninth in the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

This was the Red Bull junior team’s first double-points-scoring Monaco Grand Prix since 2019.

Finishing ninth and tenth in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, both Williams drivers finished in the top ten for a fourth consecutive race. It was the first time Williams scored with both cars at four races in a row since doing so at the 2016 Bahrain, Chinese, Russian and Spanish Grands Prix.

This was the third time Albon finished ninth in 2025 – his second-worst result of the season. He has scored in seven of the eight races so far this year.

This was the second consecutive Monaco Grand Prix in which Albon finished ninth.

Carlos Sainz continued his 100% points-scoring rate at the Monaco Grand Prix and became the first driver to score points on all of his first ten appearances at the event. Tenth equals his worst result to date at the track, having also finished tenth in both 2015 and 2018.

This was Williams’ first double-points scoring appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix since the team’s double podium finish in 2005.

Only five drivers completed all 78 laps of the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. This was the first race in which as few as five drivers finished on the lead lap since the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix.

THE OTHER FINISHERS

Finishing 11th in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, George Russell failed to score a point for the first time since being disqualified from the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix. It ended a 17-race streak of points finishes.

Ollie Bearman gained eight places from the back of the grid to finish 12th in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. This was the fourth race of the season in which he gained more than five places from where he started.

With Franco Colapinto 13th and Pierre Gasly failing to finish the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, the Enstone-based team left the principality having failed to score a point for the first time since 2017.

With 14th place in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, Gabriel Bortoleto equalled the best result of his career to date. He also finished 14th in the Chinese Grand Prix.

Lance Stroll finished 15th for a second consecutive race. He has not finished in the top 14 since scoring points at the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix.

Yuki Tsunoda finished 17th in the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, failing to score a point for the fourth time in his five Monaco Grand Prix appearances. This equalled his worst result to date at the track, having also finished 17th in 2022.

With 18th place, Kimi Antonelli failed to score points at successive races for the first time in his career.

This was Mercedes’ first point-less Grand Prix since the 2024 Australian Grand Prix as well as the first time the team failed to score in Monaco since 2011.

THE RETIREES

Pierre Gasly was the first driver to retire from the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. This was his second retirement of the year, as well as the first time Gasly failed to finish in his seven appearances in Monaco.

Fernando Alonso is yet to score a point in 2025 following his retirement from the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. This is his worst start to a season since 2015, as well as the first time he has failed to score at as many as eight races in a row since failing to score at all of the last nine races of the 2015 season.

This was Alonso’s first retirement at the Monaco Grand Prix since 2018.

Alonso became the first driver to record three retirements in the 2025 season.
