Piastri becomes the first repeat winner in 2025, Antonelli becomes the first Mercedes driver to fail to score in Bahrain and Gasly records Alpine’s first points of the season. Here are the facts and statistics from the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix!
PIASTRI WINS THE 2025 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX
Oscar Piastri won the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, recording the fourth Grand Prix victory of his Formula 1 career. Piastri is the 61st driver to have won as many as four Grands Prix in F1.
Having also won the Chinese Grand Prix, Piastri became the first repeat winner of the 2025 season.
Piastri recorded McLaren’s first-ever Bahrain Grand Prix victory. This was also the team’s first visit to the podium in Bahrain since Lewis Hamilton finished third in the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix.
This was Piastri’s first top seven finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
For the first time in his career, Piastri recorded a hat trick, winning from pole position and setting the fastest lap. He did not record a Grand Slam, as Charles Leclerc led three laps of the Grand Prix.
Piastri led 54 laps of the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. McLaren had led only seven laps at Bahrain International Circuit prior to the 2025 race, the most recent of which were in 2007.
This was Piastri’s 32nd consecutive finish, overtaking Carlos Sainz for sixth on the list of most consecutive finishes in F1 history.
The 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix was the fifth consecutive race to be won from pole position. It is the first time five races in a row have been won from pole position since the five races between the 2023 Monaco and British Grands Prix.
This was the first-ever podium finish for an Australian driver at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
ON THE PODIUM
George Russell and Lando Norris joined Oscar Piastri on the podium at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. All three drivers recorded their first podium finishes at the track.
George Russell finished on the podium for the third time this year, recording his best result of the season to date with second place.
This was Russell’s 18th podium finish in Formula 1.
Russell’s podium finish was Mercedes’ 17th top three finish in Bahrain. It saw Mercedes equal Ferrari as the team with the most podium results in Bahrain.
Lando Norris finished on the podium for a fifth consecutive race, setting the longest podium finishing streak of his career to date. This was the first time that a McLaren driver finished on the podium at all of the first four races of a season since Lewis Hamilton did so in 2007.
Norris recorded the 30th podium finish of his career, equalling Juan Pablo Montoya for 37th in the all-time podium list.
During the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, Norris overtook Jenson Button for second on the list of most Grand Prix laps raced with McLaren.
This was McLaren’s first-ever double podium result at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
IN THE POINTS

Lewis Hamilton recorded his best result as a Ferrari driver to date, finishing the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix in fifth place.

On Lap 41 of the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, Hamilton became the first driver to have completed 1,000 Grand Prix laps at Bahrain International Circuit.
Hamilton’s efforts saw him voted Driver Of The Day for the 18th time in his career – and for the first time since the 2024 British Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen finished sixth in the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix – his first finish outside of the top four in 2025. In the last 25 races, Verstappen has finished outside of the top five only five times – all of those being sixth place finishes.
Verstappen’s sixth place finish marked his 25th consecutive points-scoring Grand Prix, making it the fifth-longest scoring streak in F1 history.
With seventh place in the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix – after being overtaken by Max Verstappen on the final lap – Pierre Gasly recorded Alpine’s first points of the 2025 season.
This was Gasly’s best Bahrain Grand Prix result since finishing sixth in 2020.
Both Haas drivers finished in the points for the second time this season, with Esteban Ocon finishing eighth and Ollie Bearman finishing tenth. This was Haas’ first-ever double points scoring race in Bahrain.
This was Bearman’s third consecutive points-scoring race and his second consecutive tenth place finish.
Bearman scored a point having started last on the grid. He gained ten places in the Grand Prix – the most of any driver. Second on the list was team-mate Ocon, who gained six places.
Bearman became the first driver to score a point from 20th on the grid since Pierre Gasly at the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix.
Yuki Tsunoda finished ninth in the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, recording his first points of the 2025 season and his first points as a Red Bull driver. This was Red Bull’s first double points scoring race since the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

THE OTHER FINISHERS
Finishing in 11th at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli failed to score points in a Grand Prix for the first time in his Formula 1 career.

Isack Hadjar, who finished 13th in the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, is one of only two drivers – along with Pierre Gasly – who has lost positions in every race so far this season.
With Hadjar finishing 13th and Liam Lawson 16th, this was the third year in a row that the Red Bull junior team failed to score a point at the Bahrain Grand Prix – the longest active point-less streak of any team in Bahrain.
Fernando Alonso remains yet to score a point in 2025, having finished 15th in the Bahrain Grand Prix.
This was the first time since 2021 that Alonso failed to score a point at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
ONLY SAINZ RETIRES
Carlos Sainz was the only driver who failed to finish the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. He recorded his second retirement of the season, having also retired from the Australian Grand Prix.
Sainz became the second driver – after Fernando Alonso – to record multiple retirements in 2025.
This was the first time since 2019 that Sainz failed to finish or failed to score a point in a race in Bahrain.
Sainz became the first driver to retire having started eighth on the grid since George Russell at the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
HULKENBERG DISQUALIFIED
After failing post-race checks, Nico Hulkenberg was disqualified from the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix.
Hulkenberg recorded the third DSQ of his career, after the 2019 Japanese Grand Prix and the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Hulkenberg became the 14th driver to record as many as three disqualifications in his Formula 1 career, and only the second current driver to do so, after Lewis Hamilton.
This was the second time in the last three races that the driver starting 16th has been disqualified from the race.
2018 remains the last time that Hulkenberg scored a point at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Hulkenberg became the first driver to record a DSQ at Bahrain International Circuit.
