Norris takes consecutive wins, Alonso is the first driver to score points at the age of 45 in 52 years and Verstappen retires on the first lap of his final home appearance. Here are the facts and statistics from the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix!
NORRIS WINS THE 2026 DUTCH GRAND PRIX
Lando Norris took victory in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, recording a second consecutive win. This is the first time Norris has won two races in a row since the 2025 Mexico City and Sao Paulo Grands Prix.
Norris recorded the 13th victory of his Formula 1 career, equalling Alberto Ascari and David Coulthard for 23rd on the all-time win list. Norris’ victory also saw him overtake Coulthard for sixth place on the list of most Grand Prix wins with McLaren.
2026 is the third year in a row that McLaren took victory in the Dutch Grand Prix.
Norris became the ninth driver to record multiple wins at Zandvoort during its history on the F1 calendar.
Norris’ consecutive wins ended a streak of five successive different Grand Prix winners – the longest such streak in two years.
This was the sixth year in a row that the Dutch Grand Prix polesitter went on to win the race.
Norris was voted Driver Of The Day for the first time since the 2025 Australian Grand Prix.
ON THE PODIUM
Mercedes team-mates Kimi Antonelli and George Russell joined Lando Norris on the podium at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
Antonelli’s second place finish marked his first points-scoring race at Zandvoort, having finished 16th last year.
This was the 30th top three finish of Russell’s career, equalling Juan Pablo Montoya for 38th on the all-time podium list. It was his first podium appearance since the British Grand Prix and his first top three result at Zandvoort since 2022.
IN THE POINTS
With Lando Norris, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton scoring points in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, this was the 176th consecutive race in which British drivers scored points, having scored in every Grand Prix since the 2018 British Grand Prix. It equalled the record set by German drivers between the 2008 British Grand Prix and the 2017 Italian Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton remains yet to finish outside of the top six this season, finishing fourth in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc secured the fastest lap for the second Grand Prix in a row, recording fastest laps at successive races for the first time since the 2024 Saudi Arabian and Australian Grands Prix.
Oscar Piastri maintained his 100% points-finish rate at Zandvoort with a sixth place finish in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
Finishing seventh, Liam Lawson scored points for Red Bull for the first time. This was also the first time in his three appearances at Zandvoort that Lawson finished in the top ten.
After scoring his first points of the year last time out, Nico Hulkenberg recorded his best result of the season so far, finishing eighth in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix. It equalled Audi’s best Grand Prix result to date.
Hulkenberg made this the first time that the former Sauber team scored a point at Zandvoort, as well as the first time that he scored points at the track.
This was Hulkenberg’s first top eight finish since the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Fernando Alonso finished ninth in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, recording his – and Aston Martin’s – best result of the season so far. It was Alonso’s second points finish of the year, after the Monaco Grand Prix.
Alonso is the first driver to score a point after celebrating his 45th birthday since Graham Hill at the 1974 Swedish Grand Prix.
With Max Verstappen retiring on the opening lap, Alonso left Zandvoort as the only driver to have scored points in every Dutch Grand Prix since the event’s 2021 return.
Pierre Gasly finished tenth in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, returning to the points for the first time since the British Grand Prix.
THE OTHER FINISHERS
With Yuki Tsunoda 11th and Arvid Lindblad 12th, this was only the second race of the season – after the Miami Grand Prix – in which Racing Bulls failed to score a point.
This was the first time since the Canadian Grand Prix, which he did not start, that Lindblad finished outside of the points-paying positions.
Finishing 15th, Sergio Perez finished outside of the points for the first time in his five appearances at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Carlos Sainz finished 16th in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, failing to score for the seventh race weekend in a row. This is now the longest point-less streak of Sainz’s career.
THE RETIREES
Max Verstappen crashed out on the first lap of his final home Grand Prix appearance. He recorded his fourth retirement of the season, after China, Monaco and Britain.
Verstappen’s DNF marked the first time he failed to finish in the top two at the Dutch Grand Prix since the event’s return to the calendar in 2021.
This was the first time that a Red Bull driver failed to score a point at Zandvoort, with the team never having previously finished outside of the top nine at the track.
Ollie Bearman retired due to a power unit issue ahead of the restart of the race. Like Verstappen, he recorded his fourth non-finish of the season.
This was Bearman’s first DNF at Zandvoort, having finished sixth here on his first appearance in 2025.
The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix became a double DNF for Haas, with Esteban Ocon retiring later in the race. It marked Ocon’s first retirement since the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, ending a streak of 28 consecutive finishes.
This was Ocon’s first DNF at Zandvoort, with his 15th place in 2024 being his only other non-points-scoring appearance at the track.
These were the first DNFs for Haas at the Dutch Grand Prix since Nikita Mazepin failed to finish in 2021.
This was the first double DNF for Haas since the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix. They became the fourth team to record a double DNF this season.
Lance Stroll also retired from the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix, failing to finish for the eighth time this year. This was the first time Aston Martin recorded a retirement at Zandvoort since both Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby retired from the 1959 Dutch Grand Prix.
Valtteri Bottas failed to finish for the fifth time in the last seven races. The British Grand Prix is the only race in the last eight Grands Prix that Cadillac has seen both drivers cross the finish line.
Alex Albon recorded his fifth non-finish of the year, retiring as a result of a collision with his team-mate in the closing stages.
