2026 Singapore Grand Prix: Qualifying Statistics

Verstappen takes pole at a 24th different circuit, Red Bull record their first Singapore pole since 2013 and Hadjar misses Q3 for the first time in almost a year. Here are the facts and statistics from qualifying at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix!

VERSTAPPEN ON POLE AT THE 2026 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

Max Verstappen secured the 50th pole position of his career in qualifying for the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix. He became the fifth driver – after Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel – to record as many as 50 poles.

Verstappen becomes the third driver – after Michael Schumacher (with Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (with Mercedes) – to record as many as 50 pole positions with a single constructor in Formula 1.

Marina Bay Street Circuit becomes the 24th different venue at which Verstappen has secured a pole position. He overtakes Sebastian Vettel for second on the list of most different circuits at which a driver has taken pole. The MADRING and Las Vegas Strip Circuit are now the only tracks on the 2026 calendar at which Verstappen is yet to take a pole.

Verstappen secured pole for the second race weekend in a row. This is the first time he has taken successive poles since the 2025 Italian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix.

This was Red Bull’s third pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix – their first since Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time in 2013. It’s the eighth time in the last ten races in Singapore that a Red Bull driver secured a front row start.

IN THE TOP TEN

Charles Leclerc equalled his best qualifying result of the season to date. The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix marked his fourth front row start of the season, after Austria, Britain and Azerbaijan.

This is Leclerc’s first front row start in Singapore since his last pole here in 2022.

Both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri progressed to Q3, making this the 45th race in a row at which both McLaren drivers qualified in the top ten.

Norris qualified fifth at the Singapore Grand Prix for the second year in a row.

This being the fifth consecutive race with an Alpine in the top ten in qualifying, Alpine equalled their longest Q3 appearance streak of the past three seasons. They last reached Q3 at five races in a row between the 2026 Chinese and Monaco Grands Prix. Their last longer streak was six races, between the 2023 Miami and British Grands Prix.

Pierre Gasly reached Q3 for the fourth time in the last five races. This was his first Q3 appearance in Singapore since 2022. It was only the second time that Gasly has reached Q3 in his seven Marina Bay outings.

Racing Bulls recorded a double Q3 appearance for the first time since the British Grand Prix. This was the Red Bull junior team’s third double Q3 appearance in Singapore – their first since 2022.

Liam Lawson recorded his best Singapore Grand Prix qualifying result to date, reaching Q3 here for the second time and qualifying ninth.

Arvid Lindblad returned to Q3 having missed out on a spot in the top ten on each of the last two Grand Prix weekends. This was Lindblad’s 11th Q3 appearance in his rookie season.

Lando Norris, Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton maintained their 100% Q3 appearance rates at Marina Bay Street Circuit. Hamilton has reached Q3 on every Singapore Grand Prix weekend since its debut in 2008.

ELIMINATED IN Q2

With both Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon out in Q2, Haas failed to reach Q3 for a 15th race in succession. This is the team’s longest streak without a Q3 appearance since failing to qualify in the top ten for 40 successive races between the 2019 and 2021 Abu Dhabi Grands Prix.

This was Haas’ sixth double Q2 elimination of the 2026 season. It was the first time since 2019 that neither Haas driver reached Q3 at the Singapore Grand Prix.

With both Audi drivers out in Q2, 2013 remains the last time that the former Sauber team reached Q3 at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Carlos Sainz qualified 14th, equalling his worst qualifying result to date at the Singapore Grand Prix. He last qualified 14th here in his maiden season, in 2015.

OUT IN Q1

Failing to set a lap time after encountering mechanical issues, Isack Hadjar was eliminated in Q1 at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix. This was the first time he failed to reach Q3 as a Red Bull driver, as well as being his first Q1 elimination since the 2025 United States Grand Prix.

Hadjar recorded Red Bull’s first-ever Q1 exit at the Singapore Grand Prix. This was the fourth year in a row that at least one Red Bull driver has failed to reach Q3 in Singapore.

Hadjar recorded Red Bull’s second Q1 elimination of the year – their first since Max Verstappen exited in Q1 in Australia.

Alex Albon was eliminated in Q1 for the second race in a row, recording his 10th Q1 exit of the season.

This was Albon’s second Q1 exit in Singapore, after 2022. 2019 remains the only time he has reached Q3 at Marina Bay Street Circuit.

After both cars reached Q2 last weekend in Malaysia, Aston Martin recorded their 15th double Q1 elimination of the year, with Fernando Alonso qualifying 17th and Lance Stroll 19th.

This was Alonso’s worst Singapore Grand Prix qualifying result to date, as well as his first Q1 exit here. His previous worst at Marina Bay Street Circuit was 15th in 2008 – a race which he went on to win. This was only the fourth time in his 16 appearances at the track that he did not reach Q3.

Stroll recorded his seventh Q1 exit in eight appearances at the Singapore Grand Prix. 2022 is the only time he has progressed past Q1 here.

Aston Martin recorded the first double Q1 exit for the Silverstone-based team at the Singapore Grand Prix since both Force India drivers were out in Q1 in 2009.

Cadillac recorded a 17th consecutive double Q1 elimination.

This was the first time Sergio Perez qualified outside of the top 15 at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas recorded a fourth consecutive Q1 exit at Marina Bay Street Circuit.
