Verstappen overtakes Vettel in the laps led list, McLaren record their first double podium at Imola since 2000 and Williams score with both cars at three consecutive races for the first time since 2016. Here are the facts and statistics from the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix!
VERSTAPPEN WINS THE 2025 EMILIA ROMAGNA GRAND PRIX
Max Verstappen took victory in the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, securing his second Grand Prix win of the 2025 season. This was his 65th win in total.
Verstappen became the first driver to have won four consecutive races at Imola, having previously been tied with Michael Schumacher who won three races in a row at the track from 2002 to 2004. It’s the 12th time that a driver has taken as many as four consecutive wins at a track.
Verstappen equalled his longest streak of wins at a single circuit with his fourth consecutive Imola win. He also won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in four consecutive years from 2020 to 2023 and has won each of the last four editions of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Italy equals the United States as the country in which Verstappen has taken the most victories. This was his sixth win in Italy.
This was Verstappen’s 116th top three finish with Red Bull, which equals Michael Schumacher’s tally of podium finishes with Ferrari – the second most with a single constructor in F1 history.
In their 400th Grand Prix, a Red Bull driver set the fastest lap of the race for the 100th time. 2025 becomes the 17th consecutive season in which a Red Bull driver has set the fastest lap of a Grand Prix, seeing Red Bull equal Ferrari as the team to have set the fastest lap in the most consecutive seasons. Ferrari set a fastest lap in all 17 seasons from 1995 to 2011.
Red Bull became the first team to score four wins in a row at Imola, having previously been tied with Williams (1995-97) and Ferrari (2002-04) for the most successive wins here.
This was the 15th race which Max Verstappen led from start to finish, equalling Sebastian Vettel for third on the list of most races in which a driver has led every lap. Verstappen also passed Vettel for third on the list of most laps led in Formula 1 history, with his total now standing at 3,560, compared to Vettel’s 3,501.
Verstappen overtook Ayrton Senna for the second-most Grand Prix laps led at Imola. Verstappen has now led 247 laps at the track – ten more than Senna. He sits 70 laps behind Michael Schumacher at the top of the list.
This was the 28th consecutive Grand Prix in which Verstappen scored a point, overtaking Kimi Raikkonen for the fourth-longest scoring streak in Formula 1. Verstappen now appears in the top four on the list twice, having previously scored at 43 consecutive races between 2022 and 2024.
ON THE PODIUM
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri joined Max Verstappen on the podium at the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. This was McLaren’s first double podium finish at Imola since the 2000 San Marino Grand Prix.
Lando Norris finished as runner-up, recording the 32nd podium finish of his career. He equalled the career total podiums of Jim Clark, Jacques Laffite, Jean Alesi and former team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.
This was Norris’ fourth consecutive podium finish at Imola.
With third place in the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri finished on the podium for a sixth consecutive Grand Prix. This is the 60th time that a driver has taken as many as six consecutive podium finishes.
Piastri crossed the finish line for a 35th consecutive Grand Prix, overtaking Daniel Ricciardo for the third-longest finishing streak in F1 history.
This was the 25th consecutive Grand Prix in which Piastri scored a point, becoming the fourth driver in history – after Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen – to have scored in as many as 25 consecutive races.
Piastri’s third place finish marked the first time that the Imola polesitter did not finish first or second or record a retirement since Rene Arnoux finished third in the 1983 San Marino Grand Prix.

Of races he has finished at Imola, this was the first time Alonso finished in a worse position than where he started.
Along with Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll extended the record for most appearances at Imola without recording a DNF, having finished on all of his first five appearances at the track.
