The polesitter has a 66% win rate at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix with two wins in the first three races at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Lewis Hamilton won the inaugural race here from pole, while Sergio Perez won from pole in 2023. Perez previously failed to convert pole into a win in 2022, finishing fourth.

Second is the only grid position from which a podium finish has been on the podium in all three Saudi Arabian Grands Prix to date. Valtteri Bottas lost one position from where he started to finish third in the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc recorded the position’s best result to date in 2022, finishing where he started, while Fernando Alonso finished third from second on the grid in 2023.

At the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, George Russell became the first driver to start third at Jeddah Corniche Circuit and fail to finish on the podium. He finished fourth.

Max Verstappen won the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from fourth on the grid. It’s currently the furthest back grid slot from which anyone has recorded a win in Jeddah and one of only two podiums to come from further back than third on the grid.
In 2021, Charles Leclerc lost three places over the course of the race. He finished seventh, having started fourth. Fellow Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz also lost positions having started fourth in 2023. He finished sixth.

Fifth is the only one of the top six grid slots which has recorded a retirement at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and one of only four on the whole grid to have recorded multiple retirements.
Sergio Perez failed to finish in 2021, crashing out at the first restart of the race, while Lance Stroll retired with engine issues in 2023.
In 2022, Esteban Ocon became the first – and so far only – driver to score points from fifth on the grid at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. He finished sixth.

Lewis Hamilton started seventh and finished fifth in the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which is the best result to date for this grid position.
Before 2023, a single point had been scored from seventh on the grid in Saudi Arabian, with Lando Norris finishing 10th having started here in 2021. Fernando Alonso had less luck in 2022, retiring with mechanical issues.

Of the top 13 grid slots, eighth is the only one yet to score at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Yuki Tsunoda could finish no higher than 14th in 2021, Valtteri Bottas failed to finish the race with gearbox troubles in 2022 and Oscar Piastri finished only eighth in 2023.

The driver starting ninth has finished in the top nine in all three Jeddah races to date. Esteban Ocon recorded the grid slot’s best finish to date at the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix with fourth place – which was very nearly a podium finish, until he was passed by Valtteri Bottas on the finish line.
In 2022, Pierre Gasly made up one position to finish eighth with AlphaTauri and the Frenchman finished where he started having lined up ninth on the grid in 2023.

Nico Hulkenberg brought an end to P10’s 100% points scoring rate at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2023 with a 12th place finish.
In both previous Jeddah races, the driver starting tenth made up one position in the race and finished ninth. Antonio Giovinazzi picked up two points in the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, while Kevin Magnussen repeated the feat in 2022.
