Your 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix Predictions: The Results

Did you predict another home podium for Perez? Or that Leclerc would fail to finish in the top five? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WHERE WILL PEREZ FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2nd OR 3rd

CORRECT ANSWER: 2nd OR 3rd

For the second year in a row, Sergio Perez delighted his home fans with a podium finish. After equalling his best Mexico qualifying result with fourth place, Perez passed George Russell on the opening lap and went on to finish third in the race.

2. WILL HAAS MAKE IT OUT OF Q1?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

For the first time in their history, Haas made it out of Q1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Kevin Magnussen progressed to Q2, becoming the first Haas driver to qualify above 16th place at the venue. Sadly for the Dane, a grid penalty put him on the back row.

3. WHO’LL SCORE MORE POINTS – ALPINE OR McLAREN?

YOUR PREDICTION: ALPINE

CORRECT ANSWER: McLAREN

McLaren out-scored Alpine at the Mexico City Grand Prix. While Fernando Alonso retired, Esteban Ocon picked up four points for the Enstone squad with an eighth place finish. Meanwhile, both McLaren drivers finished in the points with Daniel Ricciardo seventh and Lando Norris ninth.

4. WILL RED BULL FINISH 1-2?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Not quite! Max Verstappen took his 14th win of the year and Sergio Perez joined him on the podium. Perez finished the race just 2.9 seconds behind second-placed Lewis Hamilton.

5. WHERE WILL LECLERC FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2nd OR 3rd

CORRECT ANSWER: 6th or lower

Less than 3% of you expected Charles Leclerc to finish outside of the top five at the Mexico City Grand Prix. It was a lacklustre weekend for Ferrari. Leclerc qualified seventh on Saturday and made up one position in the race to finish sixth.
