Did you predict a Red Bull win? Or that nine drivers would take grid penalties? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Italian Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL RED BULL RECORD A 1-2 RESULT?

YOUR PREDICTION: NO

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Red Bull were expected to dominate the Italian Grand Prix weekend, with their car looking to suit the characteristics of the Monza circuit. With grid penalties, Max Verstappen started 7th, while Sergio Perez started 13th. In the race, Verstappen fought to the front and won, while Perez made his way to sixth place.

2. WHERE WILL HAMILTON FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 4th OR 5th

CORRECT ANSWER: 4th OR 5th

After starting on the back row of the grid, Lewis Hamilton finished fifth in the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. It’s the third year in a row that Hamilton has not finished on the Monza podium.

3. HOW MANY POINTS WILL FERRARI SCORE?

YOUR PREDICTION: 21 – 30 POINTS

CORRECT ANSWER: 21 – 30 POINTS

With Charles Leclerc second and Carlos Sainz fourth, Ferrari picked up 30 points at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. It’s the team’s biggest points haul at Monza since 2018, when their drivers finished in the same positions.

4. WILL A TEAM OTHER THAN RED BULL, FERRARI OR MERCEDES FINISH ON THE PODIUM?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

This was the first time since 2019 that no team other than Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes finished on the Italian Grand Prix podium. Instead a driver from each of the three frontrunning teams finished in the top three. Lando Norris remains the only driver outside of the top three teams to have finished on the podium this year.

YOUR PREDICTION: MORE THAN 7

CORRECT ANSWER: MORE THAN 7

In total, nine drivers received grid penalties for the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. Yuki Tsunoda, Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz were required to start from the back of the grid, Sergio Perez picked up a 10-place penalty, Valtteri Bottas and Kevin Magnussen served 15 place penalties, and Max Verstappen, Esteban Ocon & Mick Schumacher each took 5 place grid drops.
