Your 2022 French Grand Prix Predictions: The Results

Did you predict only one Ferrari would reach the chequered flag? Or that both Mercedes drivers would finish on the podium? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 French Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL BOTH FERRARI DRIVERS FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES, BOTH WILL

CORRECT ANSWER: NO, BUT ONE WILL

Over half of you expected that at least one Ferrari driver would fail to reach the chequered flag at the French Grand Prix. Unlike at recent races, there was a Ferrari retirement – but it was down to driver error rather than mechanical failure. Charles Leclerc crashed out while leading, recording the team’s seventh DNF of the year.

2. WILL THE POLESITTER WIN?

YOUR PREDICTION: NO

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Charles Leclerc failed to convert pole to victory at the 2022 French Grand Prix. He became the first polesitter to fail to win at Circuit Paul Ricard since the last Ferrari driver to take pole here – Nigel Mansell, in 1990.

3. WHICH FRENCH DRIVER WILL RECORD THE BEST RESULT?

YOUR PREDICTION: ESTEBAN OCON

CORRECT ANSWER: ESTEBAN OCON

Esteban Ocon scored points at the French Grand Prix for the first time with an eighth place finish. Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly finished 12th. He failed to score at home for the first time since 2018.

4. WILL HAAS SCORE?

YOUR PREDICTION: TIED

CORRECT ANSWER: NEITHER DRIVER WILL

The result of this poll was tied, but ultimately the option with the fewest votes was the correct answer. Mick Schumacher was last of the cars still running at the end of the race, while Kevin Magnussen failed to finish. This was the first time that the Haas team has not scored since the Canadian Grand Prix.

5. WHERE WILL THE BEST-PLACED MERCEDES FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2nd or 3rd

CORRECT ANSWER: 2nd or 3rd

With Charles Leclerc retiring, Carlos Sainz starting at the back and Sergio Perez caught napping, Mercedes were able to take a double podium finish for the first time this season.
