WATCH: Red Bull Celebrate 250th GP

Red Bull arrived in F1 as the cool new kids on the block in 2005. Thirteen years, 56 wins, 150 podiums and 8 championships later – the team will celebrate their 250th race appearance at the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix.

Red Bull bought the Jaguar team back in 2004 and began competing in Formula One in 2005. Team Principal Christian Horner notes how the team ‘brought a new energy to the paddock’, which was epitomised by the Red Bull Energy Centre – their state of the art motorhome.

Red Bull soon charged from being consistent midfield runners to taking four straight Drivers’ and Constructors’ Titles between 2010 and 2013. Since then, the team have remained at the sharp end of the grid, with Daniel Ricciardo saying he was drawn to the Red Bull’s ‘confidence’ when he joined in place of Mark Webber for the 2014 season.

Hear from Christian Horner and Daniel Ricciardo as they discuss Red Bull’s history and their prospects for the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix:

Having racked up their 150th podium finish courtesy of Max Verstappen at the Spanish Grand Prix, Red Bull head to the Monte Carlo circuit with cause for optimism about their chances of celebrating their 250th race appearance in style.

Monaco is certainly a circuit at which the Milton Keynes based team have excelled in the past. David Coulthard scored Red Bull’s first podium here in 2006, memorably wearing a Superman cape on the rostrum. The team enjoyed three consecutive years of pole positions and victories in the Principality in 2010, 2011 and 2012, while Daniel Ricciardo took his maiden F1 pole for Red Bull in Monte Carlo in 2016. Red Bull have had at least one of their drivers finish on the podium in seven of the last eight Monaco Grands Prix.

If Red Bull do win on Sunday, you can expect raucous celebrations, as we’ve seen before on their unique floating Energy Station in Monaco. Perhaps Daniel Ricciardo will even give us a rendition of the Y.M.C.A. on the podium…
