Mercedes Reveal the W12

Mercedes have revealed the W12 – the car with which the team will challenge for an unprecedented eighth consecutive championship win.

Mercedes have launched their 2021 campaign with the unveiling of their new car. The W12 was revealed online, shortly before a launch event at Mercedes’ factory.

Mercedes have won every F1 championship since 2014, and in 2021 search for an unprecedented eighth consecutive Constructors’ Championship win. Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton will partner Valtteri Bottas for a fifth season, with the duo set to become the second longest-lasting driver pairing in F1 history before the end of the 2021 season.

In 2020, despite their unparalleled success, Mercedes proved that they have not stopped striving to be better, or finding new ways to dominate. Their innovative Dual Axis Steering system unveiled during winter testing was one of major engineering talking points of 2020 (though the system is banned from 2021 onwards). The team notched up another thirteen wins and fifteen poles during the 2020 season, recording five 1-2 finishes. They secured their seventh successive title win at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, before Hamilton sealed the title at the Turkish Grand Prix. The team ultimately scored almost double the points of closest rivals Red Bull. With minimal rule changes for 2021, you can expect Mercedes to be the class of the field once again this year.
