2022 Bahrain Grand Prix

Lando Norris’ 100% points scoring rate in Bahrain came to an end on his fifth appearance at the track. In better news, Norris became Daniel Ricciardo’s first team-mate to out-qualify him in Bahrain in his twelve appearances at the circuit.

2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Lando Norris was eliminated in Q2 for the second consecutive weekend. It’s the first time that Norris has failed to qualify in the top ten at two races in a row since the 2019 Belgian and Italian Grands Prix.

2022 Australian Grand Prix

Scoring points at the Australian Grand Prix for the first time, Lando Norris finished in the top five for the first time since finishing as runner-up at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.

2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

Lando Norris finished in third place, recording McLaren’s first podium finish of the 2022 season. This was Norris’ first podium since the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. Norris made this the fourth time in the last five races at Imola that a McLaren driver has finished in third place.

2022 Miami Grand Prix

Lando Norris was eliminated from the Miami Grand Prix in a collision with Pierre Gasly. Norris recorded his first retirement since he was taken out on the first lap at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc therefore became the driver with the longest active finishing streak, having also last retired in Hungary last year.

2022 Spanish Grand Prix

Battling with tonsillitis throughout the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, Lando Norris recorded his first Q2 exit since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Nevertheless, he made up positions in the race to finish eighth, equalling his best result at hte circuit.

2022 Monaco Grand Prix

With fifth place, Lando Norris equalled his best Monaco Grand Prix qualifying result. Norris remains the only McLaren driver to qualify in the top five at the Monaco Grand Prix since 2013. In the race, Norris finished in sixth place and recorded the fastest lap for the fourth time in his career. He last recorded the fastest lap at the 2021 Russian Grand Prix.

2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Lando Norris lost his 100% Q3 appearance record at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, missing out on qualifying in the top ten by just 0.022 seconds. With ninth place in the race, Lando Norris maintained his 100% points-scoring record at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He became the 49th driver to have scored in 50 Grands Prix.

2022 Canadian Grand Prix

A power unit issue left Lando Norris unable to set a final lap time in Q2 and he subsequently qualified 14th; his worst qualifying result of the year to date. He finished outside of the points, but Norris did at least cross the finish line at the track for the first time, moving out of a group of 47 drivers with a 100% DNF rate in Montreal.

2022 British Grand Prix

Lando Norris remains yet to be out-qualified by a team-mate at his home Grand Prix. He qualified sixth for the 2022 British Grand Prix. Norris finished where he started, making this the fourth consecutive race at Silverstone in which he has scored.

2022 Austrian Grand Prix

Lando Norris qualified 15th on Friday– his worst qualifying result of the year to date. He moved up to 11th in the Sprint, qualifying in 11th for the fourth time this year.

For the first time in his career, Norris reached the chequered flag at Round 11 of the F1 season. He came home in seventh place, marking the first time he has finished a race at the Red Bull Ring in a position outside of the top six.

Norris remains in a group of only five drivers who’ve scored on every appearance at this circuit. The others are David Coulthard, Nico Rosberg, Pedro Rodriguez and Reine Wisell.

2022 French Grand Prix

Lando Norris qualified fifth for the French Grand Prix, recording his fourth top five qualification of the 2022 season. Norris finished seventh for a second consecutive race. With both Norris and Daniel Ricciardo scoring, this was the third consecutive French Grand Prix in which McLaren have scored with both cars. However, this is only the second time in the last ten races at Circuit Paul Ricard that no McLaren driver has finished in the top six.

2022 Hungarian Grand Prix

Lando Norris made his 73rd start with McLaren this weekend. It saw him equal John Watson as the driver to have made the tenth most starts with the McLaren team. Norris recorded his best Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying result to date with fourth place. This is McLaren’s best qualifying result at the Hungarian Grand Prix since Lewis Hamilton took pole in 2012. Norris finished in seventh place for a third consecutive race.

2022 Belgian Grand Prix

Lando Norris qualified tenth at the Belgian Grand Prix for a third successive season. Norris finished the race 12th, coming home outside of the points for the first time since the Canadian Grand Prix.

2022 Dutch Grand Prix

Lando Norris reached Q3 for the fourth race in a row, making it his longest Q3 streak of the season to date. For the fourth time in the last five races, Norris finished the Grand Prix in seventh place.

2022 Italian Grand Prix

Lando Norris finished in seventh place for the fifth time in the last six races, maintaining his 100% points-scoring record at Monza. Scoring six points, Norris moved ahead of Romain Grosjean in the list of most points without a victory. Norris has now scored 394 points in his career. Only Nico Hulkenberg has scored more points without ever taking a win.

2022 Singapore Grand Prix

Lando Norris finished in the top four for the first time since his podium finish at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, recording McLaren’s best Singapore Grand Prix result since 2011. Norris qualified in sixth place, which was the team’s best Marina Bay qualifying result since Lewis Hamilton took pole position in 2012.

2022 Japanese Grand Prix

Lando Norris maintained his 100% Q3 appearance rate at the Japanese Grand Prix and, with tenth place, scored for the first time at Suzuka.

2022 United States Grand Prix

Lando Norris qualified eighth for the third time in his three United States Grand Prix appearances. This was the first time Norris has out-qualified a team-mate at COTA. Finishing sixth, this was the fifth consecutive race in which Norris scored, becoming his longest points-scoring streak of the 2022 season. This was Norris’ best result at COTA to date.

2022 Mexico City Grand Prix

With eighth place, Lando Norris equalled his best Mexico City Grand Prix qualifying result. He also qualified eighth here in 2019. Having previously picked up a solitary point in Mexico, ninth place marked Norris’ best result in the country to date.

2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix

Lando Norris celebrated his 23rd birthday on the day of the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix – but it wasn’t a birthday to remember. He became the second driver who has failed to finish when racing on his 23rd birthday, after Jacky Ickx at the 1968 South African Grand Prix.

On Friday, Norris qualified in the top four for the fourth time this season; the first time he has done so since the Hungarian Grand Prix. His Sunday retirement ended a six race scoring streak and a 15 race finishing streak for the British driver. This was the first time Norris failed to pick up points at Interlagos. Norris recorded the first retirement for the driver starting eighth at Interlagos since 2006.

2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Lando Norris qualified in seventh place and is still yet to be out-qualified by a team-mate at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Norris finished the race in sixth place, marking the first time that he has finished the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in a better position than where he started.
