Your 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix Predictions: The Results

Did you predict Red Bull’s winning streak would end? Or that Magnussen would score in the Sprint? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL RED BULL WIN?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Over 80% of you expected Red Bull’s winning streak to continue in Brazil but Mercedes were back on form and took their first victory of the season, ending a nine-race winning streak for this year’s World Champions. Red Bull finished the race with Max Verstappen only sixth and Sergio Perez seventh.

2. WILL HAAS, ALFA ROMEO OR WILLIAMS SCORE IN THE SPRINT?

YOUR PREDICTION: NO

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

F1’s final Sprint weekend of the 2022 season saw a very mixed up grid for the 24 lap race, with Kevin Magnussen securing Haas’ first pole position. Though Magnussen could not stay ahead in the Sprint, he did finish eighth, which meant he picked up a single point. He was the only driver from the teams listed above to score in the Sprint.

3. WHERE WILL HAMILTON FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2nd or 3rd

CORRECT ANSWER: 2nd or 3rd

Lewis Hamilton finished as runner-up to his team-mate at the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. This is the third consecutive race in which he finished as runner-up – his longest streak of second places since finishing as runner up at all four races between the 2015 Mexican Grand Prix and the 2016 Australian Grand Prix.

4. WHO WILL SCORE MORE POINTS IN THE GRAND PRIX – HAAS OR ALPHATAURI?

YOUR PREDICTION: ALPHATAURI

CORRECT ANSWER:

A poll that didn’t have a correct answer, as neither team scored on Sunday! Despite setting the fastest time in qualifying, Kevin Magnussen failed to reach the end of Lap 1 following contact with Daniel Ricciardo. Team-mate Mick Schumacher finished only 13th. Neither AlphaTauri driver scored either, with Pierre Gasly finishing ahead of Yuki Tsunoda in 14th place.

5. WILL THE WINNER START ON THE FRONT ROW?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

George Russell converted the pole position he secured in the Sprint into a Grand Prix victory. This was the seventh time in the last nine Interlagos races that the polesitter has won.
