Your 2022 Monaco GP Predictions: The Results

Did you predict Leclerc would finish his home race for the first time? Or that Haas would fail to score? How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL LECLERC FINISH THE RACE?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Before the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc was yet to finish a race on home soil. He finally did so in 2022, but finished only fourth after a botched strategy by Ferrari. Louis Chiron remains the last Monegasque driver to finish on the podium at his home race, doing so in 1950.

2. WILL INTERMEDIATE OR WET TYRES BE USED IN THE RACE?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

After the race start was delayed due to a downpour, all of the drivers were forced to start the race on wet tyres. Most drivers then switched to intermediates before taking on slick tyres ahead of the final restart.

3. WHERE WILL THE BEST-PLACED ALFA ROMEO QUALIFY?

YOUR PREDICTION: 5th or 6th

CORRECT ANSWER: 10th or lower

Hopes were higher for Alfa Romeo ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. Following their impressive times in the final sector at the Spanish Grand Prix, many expected the team to be highly competitive in Monaco. That wasn’t the case in qualifying though. Zhou Guanyu set the slowest lap time in Q1, while Valtteri Bottas qualified only 12th.

4. WILL VERSTAPPEN WIN?

YOUR PREDICTION: NO

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

For the first time in 2022, Max Verstappen finished a race without winning. After starting 4th, Verstappen finished on the final step of the podium. It ended a streak of three consecutive wins for the Dutchman.

5. HOW MANY POINTS WILL HAAS SCORE?

YOUR PREDICTION: 1-4 POINTS

CORRECT ANSWER: 0 POINTS

It was not a great day for Haas. After both drivers were eliminated in Q2 on Saturday, Kevin Magnussen retired just over 20 laps into the race, while team-mate Mick Schumacher suffered a heavy crash a few laps later. They became the third team to record a double DNF in 2022.
