Your 2021 Styrian GP Predictions: The Results

How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. HOW MUCH OF THE WEEKEND WILL BE WET?

YOUR PREDICTION: WET QUALIFYING, WET RACE

CORRECT ANSWER: DRY QUALIFYING, DRY RACE

As 28% of you predicted, there was no rain over the Styrian Grand Prix weekend. Ahead of the race, forecasts suggested that all three days of the Styrian Grand Prix weekend would be wet. The rain stayed away on Saturday and, though dark clouds threatened above the circuit on Sunday, the rain stayed away once again.

2. HOW MANY DRIVERS WILL FAIL TO SET A QUALIFYING TIME?

YOUR PREDICTION: 0

CORRECT ANSWER: 0

The Styrian Grand Prix weekend was the first since the Spanish round of the championship in which all 20 drivers set a lap time in qualifying. Mick Schumacher failed to set a time following a crash in Free Practice 3 at the Monaco Grand Prix, Lance Stroll and Antonio Giovinazzi failed to set lap times on Saturday at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and Stroll again failed to set a time in qualifying at the French Grand Prix.

3. HOW MANY HONDA POWERED CARS WILL SCORE?

YOUR PREDICTION: 2 or 3

CORRECT ANSWER: 2 or 3

All four Honda-powered cars qualified in the top eight at the Red Bull Ring, but Yuki Tsunoda was demoted three places on the grid for impeding Valtteri Bottas during qualifying. While Pierre Gasly was eliminated on the first lap, all of the other three Honda-powered cars scored. Max Verstappen won the race, Sergio Perez finished fourth and Tsunoda finished in tenth place.

4. WILL ANYONE OTHER THAN MERCEDES OR RED BULL FINISH IN THE TOP 3?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Only Mercedes and Red Bull drivers shared the podium at the Styrian Grand Prix. The familiar trio of Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas shared the top three positions for the seventeenth time.

5. WHERE WILL VETTEL FINISH THE RACE?

YOUR PREDICTION: 6th, 7th or 8th

CORRECT ANSWER: 12th or lower/DNF

Sebastian Vettel qualified in fourteenth position for the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix. He moved up only two positions in the race – mostly thanks to the retirements of Pierre Gasly and George Russell – and finished twelfth.
