Your 2021 Monaco GP Predictions: The Results

How many of your pre-race predictions for the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix were correct? Find out below!

1. WILL ANYONE OTHER THAN ALFA ROMEO, WILLIAMS AND HAAS BE OUT IN Q1?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Of the three teams’ six cars listed above, only three were eliminated in Q1. Nicholas Latifi qualified eighteenth for Williams, while both Haas cars lined up on the back row – Nikita Mazepin in nineteenth and Mick Schumacher failing to set a time following a crash in Free Practice 3. While both Alfa Romeo drivers and George Russell progressed to Q2, AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda and Alpine’s Fernando Alonso were the other two drivers eliminated in Q1.

2. HOW MANY RED BULLS WILL BE ON THE PODIUM?

YOUR PREDICTION: 1

CORRECT ANSWER: 1

As almost 70% predicted, just one Red Bull driver finished on the podium at the Monaco Grand Prix. That driver was Max Verstappen, who secured Red Bull’s first victory at Monaco since 2018. Sergio Perez finished just outside of the podium positions, in fourth.

3. WHERE WILL RICCIARDO FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 6TH OR 7TH

CORRECT ANSWER: 10th or lower

Daniel Ricciardo took his most recent F1 victory at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2018. Prior to the 2021 race, he had scored more points in Monaco than at any other circuit. But he failed to score in 2021, marking his first non points-scoring appearance since the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix.

4. HOW MANY CARS WILL FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: 16 OR 17

CORRECT ANSWER: 18 or 19

Eighteen cars reached the chequered flag in the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc, who was set to start from pole position, failed to start the race, while Valtteri Bottas retired following an issue at his pit stop.

5. WHERE WILL LECLERC FINISH?

YOUR PREDICTION: IN THE TOP 6

CORRECT ANSWER: DNF

Charles Leclerc was set to start his home race from pole position, despite crashing in the final moments of qualifying. But car issues on his way to the grid meant that he was unable to start the race. He became the first polesitter to fail to start since Jarno Trulli at the 2005 United States Grand Prix.
