Your 2020 Bahrain GP Predictions: The Results

Before the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend began, I posted five prediction polls on the Lights Out twitter account. How many of the questions did you get right? Find out below!

1. WILL A RED BULL DRIVER FINISH ON THE PODIUM?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Prior to the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel was the only Red Bull driver to have finished on the podium in Bahrain. His win in 2013 remained their most recent podium finish. However, both Max Verstappen and Alex Albon finished in the top three in the 2020 race. This was the first time both Red Bull drivers have stood on the podium since the 2017 Japanese Grand Prix.

2. WILL BOTH RACING POINT DRIVERS SCORE?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: NO

Lance Stroll’s race ended early with his car being flipped in the air by Daniil Kvyat. Their hopes of strengthening their hold on third in the Constructors’ Championship were dented by the incident, but Sergio Perez ran within the podium positions. However, with just a handful of laps remaining, Perez’s engine expired and he retired from the race, leaving Racing Point point-less.

3. WILL ANY DRIVERS BE OUT ON THE FIRST LAP?

YOUR PREDICTION: YES

CORRECT ANSWER: YES

Prior to the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, the last driver to be out on the first lap of the race here was Sebastian Vettel in 2008. On the first lap of the 2020 race, Romain Grosjean was involved in a huge crash, with his Haas car splitting in half and piercing the barriers. The Frenchman was able to walk away from the crash and was taken to hospital, where he will remain under observation.

4. WHERE WILL THE BEST PLACED FERRARI QUALIFY?

YOUR PREDICTION: 6TH OR 7TH

CORRECT ANSWER: 10TH OR LOWER

For the first time, neither Ferrari driver reached Q3 at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel out-qualified Charles Leclerc for only the fourth time this year, with the German eleventh and his team-mate twelfth.

5. WHERE WILL THE WINNER START?

YOUR PREDICTION: POLE

CORRECT ANSWER: POLE

Lewis Hamilton won the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix having started from pole position. This is only the fourth time in the last eleven races at Bahrain International Circuit that the polesitter has taken victory.
