Introducing F1 Rewind, a new weekly podcast which delves deep into the archives of motorsport history.
It’s the start of a new year, and a new decade, and we have something new for you! Say hello to our new podcast, F1 Rewind. Hosted by Nicky Haldenby (writer of Lights Out F1 Blog), each 15-minute weekly episode will be dedicated to a particular date in the calendar. The show will look at notable births and deaths on that day, a review of races held on the date, a trawl through the archive of headlines from that day and much more.
“I’m really excited to launch this new podcast. I’ve been working on it for the past six months and I’ve had such a good time finding out lots of fun facts and weird trivia that I didn’t already know about F1 and beyond. With F1 celebrating its 70th birthday this year, now is the perfect time to take a look through the sport’s wonderful, illustrious and extensive history.”
You can listen to the preview episode of the podcast below. Don’t forget to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or other popular streaming services to be notified of new episodes as soon as they’re released!
The first episode of F1 Rewind will be released on 3rd January, covering Michael Schumacher’s birthday, Jackie Stewart’s racing driver brother, the story of the first driver to wear a seatbelt at the Indianapolis 500 and plenty more!
After graduating in 2015 with a First Class honours degree in English Language and Literature, Nicky Haldenby, a lifelong fan of Formula 1, founded the Lights Out F1 Blog in 2016. The blog has become a firm fan-favourite, delving deep into the sport’s history books and lifting the cover on unusual F1 statistics.
Nicky also writes at F1Destinations and Motorsport Guides and can be heard as the resident stats man on the 2 Soft Compounds Podcast. His work has appeared on WTF1, BadgerGP, motorsport.com, Sky Sports F1 and BBC Radio 5 Live. Nicky is also the host of the F1 Rewind Podcast.
