Ferrari Unveil SF90

Ferrari have revealed their 2019 F1 car at their Maranello factory.

Ferrari have revealed the SF90, the car which they hope will take them to the first title success in over a decade. The car was revealed in a launch event at the team’s Maranello factory.

Four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel will be joined by Charles Leclerc at the team this season, in one of the most hotly anticipated driver moves of 2019. Leclerc, the 2017 Formula 2 Champion, has been a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy since 2016 and impressed in his rookie season with the Ferrari-powered Sauber team in 2018. How the Monegasque driver compares to team-mate Vettel is likely to be one of the talking points of the season, as the pair attempt to mount a charge on Mercedes to bring Ferrari their first Constructor’s Championship victory since 2008. Ferrari have made strides forward over the past two seasons and had a car which was able to competently challenge the Silver Arrows for victories throughout 2018.

Driver changes are not the only changes at Ferrari for 2019, with Maurizio Arrivabene being replaced as Team Principal by former Chief Technical Officer Mattia Binotto. Meanwhile, Pascal Wehrlein and Brendon Hartley have joined the team as simulator drivers.
