Stats and Facts

  • With just two races having being held here, the win from pole ratio is 50%. In 2016, Nico Rosberg dominated the weekend, while in 2017, Lewis Hamilton took pole but Daniel Ricciardo won a chaotic race. 
  • Mercedes and Red Bull each have one victory at this track.
  • Mercedes are the only team to have taken pole in Baku.

  Press Conference Schedules

The Drivers’ Press Conference will take place on Thursday 26th April. The press conference will be split into two parts, with three drivers appearing in the first part, and a further three in the second part. The drivers appearing in front of the media will be:

Nico Hulkenberg (Renault)
Kevin Magnussen (Haas)
Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull)

The Team Principals’ Press Conference will take place before Free Practice 2. Appearing in front of the media will be:

James Allison (Mercedes)
Mario Isola (Pirelli)
Paul Monaghan (Red Bull)

  Driver Steward

Each weekend a former Formula One driver, or a driver from another prominent series of motorsport, joins the stewards to help judge any incidents from a drivers’ perspective. The Driver Steward for the 2018 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is Tom Kristensen.
